I'm a student on placement, with a historical themed day coming up next month. I'm hoping that I'll be able to borrow bits of costume from staff at my own DC's school... but it made me wonder how much must teachers spend on their own costumes for these days. I've seen staff as Egyptians, Victorians, Tudors, Romans, Medieval princesses ... plus many assorted Book characters. It must cost a fortune. How do you do it? Any tips for someone starting out please?
