The fucking cat pissed on the toaster

Again!!!
She did it Thursday as well. Thurs was because I hadn't changed the litter box and she was displeased. Today our guest had closed the bathroom door where her litter box is.
How to i keep her away from the fucking toaster? I know once she's peed somewhere it does occasionally get revisited. Do I need to buy a new toaster? Should I kill the cat (tempted)?

qazxc Sat 10-May-14 09:33:33

Yes to new toaster, how are you going to clean it properly if not? Does it not stink when in use?

DontPutMeDownForCardio Sat 10-May-14 09:34:37

I'd buy a new toaster for hygiene. Can you get another litter tray as well and put it somewhere that's always accessible?

NorbertDentressangle Sat 10-May-14 09:37:00

The toaster?

So she has to jump up onto the kitchen worktop and squat over the toaster?

Blimey she must really hate you! wink

I mean, I can understand her peeing in the corner of a room or behind a sofa as it doesn't involve effort but on a toaster?!

Could you leave something there with a strong citrus smell to deter her?
Put the toaster away in a cupboard between uses?

NorbertDentressangle Sat 10-May-14 09:37:36

(new toaster obviously!)

AWombWithoutARoof Sat 10-May-14 09:39:33

Fill bath with water, plug in toaster, add cat to bath... grin

FoxSticks Sat 10-May-14 09:40:03

Yet more evidence to prove cats are bastards. I think a new toaster would be sensible. I bought a cheap white one from Sainsburys about two years ago for £10 and it's still going strong. Unlike its fancy purple expensive predecessor which was killed off by a hot cross bun after five minutes.

FoxSticks Sat 10-May-14 09:41:11

grin at Norbert!

EyelinerQueen Sat 10-May-14 09:41:42

Oh my god cats really are Satan's minions aren't they shock .

Yes you need a new toaster. Unless piss-scented toast sounds nice to you.

And you need to swap the cat for a dog as well grin .

Wow, that is quite athletic. And determined. You should enter the moggie for the cat olympics - the 'Worst Thing Done to an Owner' category.

I like awombwithoutaroof's evil suggestion...

StormyBrid Sat 10-May-14 09:48:23

And I thought mine was bad pissing in DD's caraway! Was it up against the side of the toaster, or actually in the toast slots?

GingerPuddin Sat 10-May-14 09:48:28

Going to asda later so will add new toaster (and dog) to the shopping list. Will lemon scent work as a deterrent? I've got a bottle of lemon juice and I'm not afraid to use it. Hell I'll drown the fucking cat in it if it happens again.
This is the first incident in the kitchen. Before it's usually just outside litter box or on bathroom floor.

StormyBrid Sat 10-May-14 09:49:33

WTF, autocorrect? DD doesn't have a caraway. She doesn't have a car seat any more either...

GingerPuddin Sat 10-May-14 09:52:11

Against the toaster not in slots as far as I can tell. The toaster was in a puddle of piss. confused
On thurs there was only a light spray around the toaster and wall behind it.
I cleaned it all with detol and warned DH and we hadn't used toaster since.

CoilRegret Sat 10-May-14 09:54:01

Our now deceased cat took offense at my then new DH being allergic to him.
He waited until DH was packing for a weekend away, had left the room, and climbed into his weekend bag and peed all over his packed stuff. DH didn't notice until he got there. I've never been forgiven for that wink

Catsmamma Sat 10-May-14 09:55:02

is she siamese/oriental?.....i know of two other cat/toaster revenge attacks and they were both that type of cat

Try not to use anything ammonia based to clean up after pee...it just over marks it and then cats see that as a challenge.

We use Zoflora made up quite strong, we have an on going battle between one of the cats and dh, in the winter he likes to bring in lots of wood and logs for the fire, which obviously smells of the outside, he sets it by the fire to dry and idiotcat likes to make it his own by peeing on it, so I often have a puddle on my stone hearth.

Eventually dh remembers not to leave piles of wood inside, and eventually the cat stops peeing in the hearth....usually about Easter time when we stop having fires. <sigh>

FoxSticks Sat 10-May-14 09:55:26

Blimey your cat is an evil genius. Far to clever to piss in the slots and risk electrocution. Respect to the cat.

FanjoForTheMammaries Sat 10-May-14 09:57:14

I would move any new toaster.
As if cat pisses on it when plugged in..it msy not just be the bread that is toast wink

polkadotdelight Sat 10-May-14 09:59:13

Could be worse, my laptop used to be the target when my old cat was alive.

TheGinSoakedBoy Sat 10-May-14 10:02:20

I have a little wooden box that I file - crap- important things in. Went in it the other day to find a school trip letter and my bloody cat had peed in it. It's in the very corner of the kitchen on the work top and certainly not easy to reach.. She must really hate me!
You definitely need a new toaster and maybe the litter tray more accsesable.
My cat had peed in the box as I'd been slack enough to use a different type of litter that didn't meet her high standards angry

SheherazadeSchadenfreude Sat 10-May-14 10:03:55

Mine pisses on the bathmat, and any material left on the floor. She saw off a leather Fossil bag last weekend, which she was quite fond of sleeping on. She's now shut out of our bedroom as she pissed on the bed a couple of times as well. Woke up, yawned, stretched, pissed, moved to another part of the bed and went back to sleep!

GoblinLittleOwl Sat 10-May-14 10:06:02

You are not still using the toaster? My cat was sick into the new- kitchen- present toaster; took it to the tip with sticky labels over it so that no-one would think it was a bargain. (the toaster, not the cat). Cat never been near the much cheaper replacement, but has just walked all over the keyboard whilst writing this.

GingerPuddin Sat 10-May-14 10:06:40

Didn't know that about ammonia. Will add new cleaner to list. We did just change to a new litter so may switch back.
She's not Siamese just garden variety black white and evil moggie.

cozietoesie Sat 10-May-14 10:37:41

New toaster and buck up your own servanting standards! (Having to wait for a clean tray and all.)

Cats are evil. Mine weed in the empty laundry bag. Which doesn't sound so bad except I picked it up with gusto, not knowing it contained a lake of cat piss, sending it all spraying around the utility room and all over myself. I had just finished a very long night shift, had been awake for more than 24 hours, and it tipped me over the edge. My swearing was so loud and so graphic that I had to go and apologise to the neighbours!

Have found Zoflora very good for getting rid of the smell.

iamusuallybeingunreasonable Sat 10-May-14 11:09:05

Eurgh, a bin bag, a brick - add toaster, add cat, trip to the canal wink

Only joking

qazxc Sat 10-May-14 11:18:21

I have to admire your cat's evil cunning genius at novel way of punishing you.

RaptorInaPorkPieHat Sat 10-May-14 11:20:12

Think yourself lucky. One time, ours pee'd on the kitchen kettle socket and fused all the downstairs electrics hmm

And then there was the time he pee'd on the home phone and I didn't realised until it rang.

He also did a regular thing of throwing up whilst running, just to spread the puke around.

He's no longer with us, and probably has a pitchfork instead of a halo. grin

restandpeace Sat 10-May-14 11:23:05

Does the dcat have a death wish? How odd. My pisses on the carpet normal or on dirty clothes.

Catsmamma Sat 10-May-14 11:24:38

oh change of litter...you really are a BAD cat owner!! ;)

idiotcat's sister will only use the expensive pink gravelly non clumping litter, or she pees in the handbasin/kitchen sink. Or occassionally down the shower plug.

idiotcat also likes to pee on shoes, so if people come and take off their shoes they have to be shut away. (the shoes, not the people)

LadySybilLikesCake Sat 10-May-14 11:25:25

Old neighbours oriental cat used to use neighbours bed as a toilet whenever she went away for the weekend (which was quite a bit). Piss and shit. <boak>

You need to lock it out of your kitchen.

TheABC Sat 10-May-14 11:29:10

Mine did it yesterday in a basket of clean, dry washing. Which would not have been so bad except our stylesheet is bust and drying anything is a bugger at the moment. He was not even
protesting - I know full well he did it because he was lazy, it was raining outside and he will not use a litter tray!

LadySybilLikesCake Sat 10-May-14 11:31:54

I don't know why people have cats.

Pandora452 Sat 10-May-14 11:32:14

Adding another litter tray or two in a different place will fix this. Promise smile

*I don't know why people have cats.

I think most cat owners think this a lot.

LadySybilLikesCake Sat 10-May-14 12:11:45

grin

BetweenDogandWolf Sat 10-May-14 12:44:00

grin My mum was reminiscing the other day about the time my parents had my cats to stay and managed to upset one of them. She did a massive wee in the middle of their brand new and very expensive mattress! She also used to stick her paw out and whack my mum every time she walked past her!

LadySybilLikesCake Sat 10-May-14 13:11:16

Cats are evil!

GingerPuddin Sat 10-May-14 14:03:46

I'm so under the paw. After the incident I shut her outside for a while. Once I let her back in she looked so miserable I felt really guilty. I'm her person and I haven't been giving her much attention lately. Then DH reminded me she pissed on the toaster.

Fuzzymum1 Sat 10-May-14 19:22:01

Another toaster pisser here. One or possibly two of our cats pee on the worktop -quite often-- once in a while. Her usual trick is to pee somewhere obvious and also on the roll of kitchen towel so you grab the kitchen towel to clean up and end up with pissy wet hands too. We get through shed loads of kitchen towel here. We want to have a new kitchen but can't bear the thought of pee in brand new worktops so are putting it off.

SuperFlyHigh Sun 11-May-14 21:48:56

no rhyme or reason for this but have to thank everyone for making me LOL so loud I have tears! grin

iggy0155 Wed 14-May-14 14:13:27

I thought my cat crapping in my hand bag was bad! Best keep the toaster away from her grin

DrankSangriaInThePark Sun 18-May-14 18:49:02

Mine has just pissed on dd's schoolbag.

Was looking for pearls of kitty wisdom but seemingly he did it because he felt like it?
