people who come in here are so diverse with likes of moggies and breed cats, just been nosey how many cats do you have and what breed or are they moggies

i have three pure moggies two short hairs and one semi long hair and one half siamese half feral cat

cozietoesie Sat 03-Aug-13 16:30:04

At the moment, I have one Siamese.

Sparklingbrook Sat 03-Aug-13 16:38:27

Just the one moggie princess. Pic on profile. She and DH won't allow further felines.

DiaryOfAWimpyMum Sat 03-Aug-13 16:40:28

Erm.. 3 and a kitten.

2 ragdolls, one semi feral and a tabby kitten. Tabby kitten may be going

GetStuffezd Sat 03-Aug-13 16:40:48

2 - 12 months and 14 months or thereabouts. The younger is a massive ginger boy and the older is a tiny tortie girl. Pics of both on profile, I think but as I uploaded them on ipad they went a bit wrong and duplicated.

GetStuffezd Sat 03-Aug-13 16:41:25

Both moggies, obv.

HansieMom Sat 03-Aug-13 17:48:21

Lola is oldest, she is five. Long haired black and gray. Rosie, big gray and white tiger striped male. He's gorgeous. Scruffy is male, gray tabby long haired. Mean but mellowing. Poppy is a year old gray tiger striped short hair. These are inside/outside cats. Lola we adopted from humane society, Rosie showed up one wintery day, so did Scruffy the next winter, and Poppy was adopted from next door. Long story.

On to the outdoor cats. Someone dumped a momma cat and four kittens at library. I trapped them all, one kitten already gone. Took weeks to catch them all. Mama is Vivienne, tortoise, Breezy a plush gray. Both semi feral. Oliver was killed on road, and Georgie Girl disappeared. They have heated cat houses in garage. Last are Max and Ruby, gray tiger striped. They came out of woods one day. Ruby comes in quite a lot. Inside she is loving, cannot pet her outside.

We never set out to have eight cats. We are soft touches.

Lonecatwithkitten Sat 03-Aug-13 17:56:49

The posh arrogant boy a BSH who is a horrible evil cat.
The tailless wonder a beautiful loving moggie.

PolterGoose Sat 03-Aug-13 17:59:30

I have one humungous 11yo rescue moggy. He made me laugh when I went to the Blue Cross after my old lady cat was PTS, he still makes me laugh, a couple of years later, he is a ridiculous cat in many ways grin

One bengal male.

Scarred for life. In every sense.

loopyloou Sat 03-Aug-13 19:23:10

One beautiful blue point Siamese boy and one young black short haired male, love them both sooooo much.

Corygal Sat 03-Aug-13 19:26:41

One fat, noisy, feral British shorthair. Faintmakingly cute as best friends go.

ClaraOswald Sat 03-Aug-13 19:27:22

Two. Twins. Mum was a mog, Dad was a Birman. So mummy's colouring and daddy's length and texture of fur.

Whogivesashit Sat 03-Aug-13 19:28:47

Two female tortoiseshell. One a spiteful witch if you touch her back or belly. The other much more grumpy since dog arrived. 😏

NatashaBee Sat 03-Aug-13 19:34:46

4... 3 moggies (think one may be part Russian blue) and one which is half Siamese. The Siamese and I are not good friends. He's insane and smelly

cozietoesie Sat 03-Aug-13 20:11:47

Aw - poor smellycat.

Daysies Sat 03-Aug-13 20:57:45

We have one slightly chubby tabby male, and a mad as cheese but completely soppy bengal male. Best of friends, most of the time!

elvisola Sat 03-Aug-13 21:13:19

I have a huge silver tabby Persian boy, he thinks he's a dog, retrieves sticks and is amazingly pretty.

I also have his sister from another litter (and another man!) she is an Exotic Shorthair (basically short haired Persian). She is tiny, whines a lot and a total lap cat.

20 (more or less - I really should count them) assorted problem/reject moggies - some with physical problems, some neurotic, some semi feral, some just a bit bitey, and the bane of my life - a random pissy one - and just a couple that are perfectly nice and normal (I'm not sure how I ended up with thosesmile )

Gruntfuttocks Sat 03-Aug-13 23:05:15

Three Devon Rex - 2 boys and a girl, boy-girl litter mates and a younger brother from the same parents.

issey6cats Sat 03-Aug-13 23:22:11

thank you all nice to hear the dynamics of different mad cat lady houses

DramaAlpaca Sat 03-Aug-13 23:28:12

Two male moggies - a twelve year old tabby who is extremely fussy & bossy, & a crazy three year old ginger ninja whose best friend is our two year old springer spaniel.

GetStuffezd Sun 04-Aug-13 06:21:37

Oh and I am determined to make friends with all the feral farm cats that are wandering about. Seen about 5 so far and a couple are a beautiful cream colour!

MinkyWinky Sun 04-Aug-13 08:42:04

Batcat (4) pure white DSH (moggie) who I recently found out sometimes visits our neighbours and meows at them... And Fluffcat, a long haired moggie), who doesn't like to stray far from his food source (us) in case he misses out. He does love his cuddles though (but not as much as food!) they're both rescue cats.

Iwouldratherbemuckingout Sun 04-Aug-13 19:38:31

Ahhhhh 3 rescue kits. Lillie, 18 month old tortie long haired girlie, absolutely a mummy's girl, very loving. Developing definite lap cat tendencies.

Storm, about 10 months old, Maine coon cross, daft as a brush. Big soppy lump. Has developed a habit of getting himself into scrapes.

Shadow, about 10 months old, was rescued with storm, think little Egyptian black cat, very sleek, very bendy, the ballerina of the family. Talks a lot, always has a tale to tell you. Likes waking me up in the middle of the night by suckling my pyjamas. Preferably my armpit.

All three get on brilliantly, and play together. If one is out and the other two are in, they won't settle till last one is home.

I would have more but don't want to spoil the happy group.

I have one moggie, she is black and white and beautiful smile

Essexgirlupnorth Sun 04-Aug-13 19:40:51

Two moggies one tabby and white female and one tortie female

deeplybaffled Sun 04-Aug-13 21:56:04

Two females -a lunatic blue torbie Siberian forest cat, and an even dafter black moggy kitten which was a stray born in my brother's shed. She failed to read the small print that she was supposed to be a calming influence on the older one...

CrazyHamsterdisguisedasatree Sun 04-Aug-13 23:14:02

I have 5 smile

Jelly is 13 months , grey & very big for a moggy as he still hasn't stopped growing , though he is very loving & loyal .

RaRa & Rosie are brother & sister , Maine Coone (not sure if crossed as they were abandoned) but definitely Maine Coon .
Not to sure on age id say around 15 months at the most .
RaRa is pure grey & long haired with the most stunning face I have ever seen on a cat & he doesn't walk he struts grin oh and he is bloody huge (size of a Yorkshire terrier) .
Rosie is Grey & White , she has always been very shy & prefers to do her own thing rather than interact with me unless she wants feeding .

Theodore & Phoebe are Rosie's kittens & are 12 weeks old , Phoebe is grey & white with same markings as her mum but short hair & Theodore is grey & rather daft as he reminds me of Odie from Garfield grin

myrtleWilson Thu 08-Aug-13 19:14:50

3 siberians here!

emmelinelucas Thu 08-Aug-13 19:29:40

2 moggies, one named TillyMinto after a poster on here whose nickname I loved !
We lost one when I moved here, and will get another when the rescue finds me one that either won't ever, ever go near a busy road, or an indoor cat. An old one that just wants to be cuddled.
I have been waiting ages, though.
Grey cats are always exceptionally beautiful, I find smile

Meow75 Thu 08-Aug-13 19:47:04

Two here at the mo.

Licorice - 6 yrs old, black with white bib, soft as a brush, still not forgiven us for going on holiday end of June, beginning of July. She's very clever, devoted to us both but loves sitting with me on my rocking chair

Spike, a year younger. Blond stripes, a bit like GetStuffezd's boy. Massive, shouty, thick as a plank, lovey, gorgeous boy

Both are absolute catnip addicts. Makes us howl with laughter to see them, and we are both - as we've been with all our other cats who are now over the Rainbow Bridge - besotted with them. DH grew up in a cat-hating, gardening household, so between the 10 of us (incl. my encouragement) over the last 15 years, we've improved him immensely.

Ponders Sat 10-Aug-13 19:53:18

2 moggies here - litter sisters, but couldn't be less alike

Mo is skinny, with sleek tuxedo coat & turned-out toes, likes to play fetch with toy mice, loves laps but hardly ever purrs

Lola is chunky, with very thick quite long black hair (but not actually long-haired), likes to play ball but never fetches, is a bit dim, prefers to sit beside you rather than on, but purrs for England

Ponders Sat 10-Aug-13 19:54:46

does everybody with more than one cat have a dim one? when they were at the vet's this week she said everybody has one thicko grin

lljkk Sat 10-Aug-13 19:55:29

2 black moggies, one sylvester moggie (he's the thicko).

LegoAcupuncture Sat 10-Aug-13 19:58:12

Two moggie boys. One black short hair and one black and white a little bit more fluffier but not long enough to be classed as long hair. Black and white one, Moe (after Moe Farrah), is tiny and still looks like a kitten although fully grown.

I would love another one, DH says nosad

Ponders Sat 10-Aug-13 20:00:08

Lego, yours sound exactly like ours & you even have the same name for the b&w one (& ours was named for Mo Farah too - we got them last August!)

Ponders Sat 10-Aug-13 20:00:40

& I would also love another & DH also says no sad

chickensaladagain Sat 10-Aug-13 20:02:34

I have 2 5 month old tabby kittens but they have some oriental in there somewhere

mignonette Sat 10-Aug-13 20:08:22

Here, here and here is my lovely Thomas who died last November. His loss is still raw.

He was my fourth cat. My first was a Siamese Burmese cross male, the second a black British short hair female. Then came a male short haired tabby and finally Thomas who had lovely long fur. We miss him so much and tried to adopt a new cat a month ago. Upon meeting a possible cat we decided we are not yet ready.

LynetteScavo Sat 10-Aug-13 20:12:34

Two cats, both "domestic short hair."

Yes, one is dim.

But the cat I had as a child was either stupid, or a genius, we couldn't figure out which. I'm probably outing myself here, but she could talk. Seriously. She could say "food" and "out" quite clearly.

If I have a cat in the future, I think I would like either a Main Coon, or maybe a Norwegian Forrest cat.

Taffeta Sat 10-Aug-13 20:18:54

One. 3yo from Battersea. Got him as a 9 wk old kitten. They called and said there was a fluffy boy and a shorthaired girl, to come and see them. We had decided before we left we wanted the short haired girl.

Got there and the girl was sulking in the corner. The boy jumped down and started playing with the DC. He chose us. grin

He is a moggy but looks a bit Maine Coon y. He loves children and just has such a lovely temperament. We all adore him, despite all the wildlife he brings in and lets loose. One memorable day I had an important business Skype call that I had to end sharpish as there was a pied wagtail flapping round in the background, somewhat distracting the other callers.

ponders I want another one too.

Dh has says when things are more settled he will consider maybe possibly giving it more thought, rather than just saying "no, are you mad?".

I keep hoping a stray cat will appear in the garden. There's never a stray cat when you want one is there?.

cozietoesie Sat 10-Aug-13 20:34:55

What stray cat is going to come calling when you have ASBO cat patrolling the boundaries, Fluffy?

LegoAcupuncture Sat 10-Aug-13 20:38:53

We got our Moe in August last year as well. He is a rescue cat, came from a very neglected home and was so scared of people. He now sleeps on my knee but still has a broken purr. He is an ugly cat, DH calls him Quasimomo. Our other cat, is very handsome, DH calls him the most handsome cat in the world, but never in front of Moe as DH doesn't want to hurt his feelings hmmgrin

I currently have six, all mogs.
Big cat got out, and had four kittens, and I have toddler kitten also.
I'm keeping two of the kittens, so will have four.
Eponine, Jemima, Matilda and Zazzles

Cosie, you are being realistic. Stop it. grin

issey6cats Sun 11-Aug-13 00:21:43

i have one who while hes not thick is very innocent and a bit dim he walks into doors and then looks as if to say who put that there, have added two timid foster kittens yesterday i am friendlying them up for the next three weeks before they go back to yorkshire cat rescue will put pics on tomorrow if i can get them to stay still long enough

cozietoesie Sun 11-Aug-13 09:16:49

ClaraOswald Sun 11-Aug-13 11:21:16

My two are far from dim.

Except girlie has a habit of forgetting she is sleeping on the window and rolls over and off onto the carpet. Hitting the radiator, a side table and any glassware in the way.

Mine are just getting lazier as they get older.

cozietoesie Sun 11-Aug-13 11:25:45

But yet she keeps going back up there to sleep ? hmm

VenusRising Sun 11-Aug-13 12:16:43

We have one weird half Siamese, half Burmese girl. She loves to climb to view her minions from above, and to lick things, like pebbles.

(Cozietoesie, did your Siamese boy ever show an interest in eating things which are not edible/ have pica?)

cozietoesie Sun 11-Aug-13 12:33:54

From thinking about it, he's a bit obsessed with eating broom bottoms (the bristle bit) but I can't work out whether that's a PICA or he just likes the feel of the stiffness in his remaining teeth, like a toothbrush. Oh - and artificial plant leaves.

(I keep both of those out of his way as much as I can, now.)

Other than those two, it's only his small 'food dipping' soft toys and I don't reckon they count.

bishboschone Sun 11-Aug-13 12:44:06

I have two tabby boys that are 14 hmm and a beastly but beautiful long haired tortoiseshell 3 year old girl who is my daughters .. Love them all!

ClaraOswald Sun 11-Aug-13 16:59:08

Its warm and sunny. :D

I had to rescue her from behind the bookcases as she did a magnificent twist in midair when falling today and landed between two of them.

Fuck knows how, and it's a good thing she is such a skinny little thing.

OhDearNigel Wed 14-Aug-13 11:50:02

We have 4 cats - 3 black girls and 1 tabby old lady. They are all rescues.

Until last week we had 5 - 4 black girls but very sadly one died last week very suddenly, it turned out that she had a massive brain tumour sad

issey6cats Wed 14-Aug-13 12:02:27

oh dearnigel sorry to hear you lost one of your girls wether they have a long or short life it always hurts when they have to go over rainbow bridge (((())))

moonbells Wed 14-Aug-13 13:00:10

Two domestic shorthair moggies, for just 3.5 weeks! We had an old black and white DSH lady who died almost 2y ago at 18 and we've only just managed to bring ourselves to get new ones. DH is really missing her now, she was his cat.

Mum is a tortoiseshell and white and was a stray before CP found her and her litter. She loves going outside or sitting at the top of the stairs. Loud miaow, tiny purr. Will come if I call her, ignores DH and DS.

Kitten is black and white, 4 months old and a total tearaway. He bit my big toe last night and I think I woke the neighbourhood. He is desperate to go outside with mum but we haven't taught him how to use the catflap so he stares out and goes MEW! Purrs like a Harley-Davidson. One day he may grow into it. Prefers to bite sit on DH.

fossil971 Wed 14-Aug-13 13:09:33

One Burmese girl, 14yo. I already have my eye on the next ones. We've always had Burmese who were very friendly "people" cats, I worry what would I do if I got a rescue moggy who was all stand-offish?

If it helps one of our previous Burmese used to eat pieces of string/wool, he was addicted to playing with string and shiny things like chains.

Lotsofcoffee Wed 14-Aug-13 16:00:29

A gorgeous tabby cat named Paddington. So in love with him, thinking of getting another!

MexicanHat Wed 14-Aug-13 17:06:15

Lotsofcoffee I too have a gorgeous tabby. Absolutely adore her. Because we love her so much we got a kitten a few months ago but it just wasn't working and we didn't want to upset her - so friend now has kitten and adores him!!

tb Sat 24-Aug-13 11:37:04

1 female Maine Coon, nearly 19 and hates grooming and attacks any comb, brush, furminator etc etc.

LST Sat 24-Aug-13 11:41:54

I have 3. All British short hair mogs

2 Toms one all black one mackerel tabby

1 Queen tortie and white

aoife24 Sat 24-Aug-13 17:34:51

Top Cat, mostly black, bsh, huge, the sweetest cat I've ever known, so gentle and friendly. Freya, tiny girl, so pretty, orange and white. Will maul you soon as look at you: ho hum.

Two, brothers, 4 years old, tuxedo DSHs. They're both idiots. I caught one of the surreptitiously kicking his brother the other day, they're just like little boys, even though they're supposed to be grownups now.

We've been away for a couple of nights, and we've seen one cat since we got back, but not the other. He's the far more adventurous one, so not surprising, but I won't be happy until I've seen him. Even though he DID throw up on the bed while we were away. He makes out he's big and tough, but he's allergic to fleas, rye grass, dust mites and storage mites, and vomits at the drop of a hat. Fortunately, I luff him. smile
