My little black cat has the pinkest tongue - love watching him wash himself. It's like a lovely, tiny slice of vair naice ham.
My big bruiser is a polydactyl and I love his massive bear paws and their delicious stripes.
Only one thing per cat is permitted wink.

Melissakitkat Mon 08-Apr-13 22:25:51

Lol I love how if you sniff their fur when they have been sleeping they smell of old socks. X

'Running' in their dreams. Trying to open the cat flap towards them

AnnoyingOrange Mon 08-Apr-13 22:34:04

Sleeping stretched out with paws in the air

My cat is dead now but if you tickled his chin he looked exactly like the wish-dragon from The Never Ending Story. smile

Booyhoo Mon 08-Apr-13 22:36:17

dcat1- how very firm she is about her no ds2/no dog rule. ds1 and me she loves but not if the other two are around.

dcat2- how much she loves ddog and vice versa.

Pascha Mon 08-Apr-13 22:37:22

The Lion's curly soft orange bottlebrush snail tail that rests on his back. .

The Snowshoe's brain. He's clever enough for the two of them.

He stuck his chin out and shut his eyes like this

CharlieUniformNovemberTango Mon 08-Apr-13 22:38:40

I like how mine tries every few days to go down the banister on the stairs and gets stuck half way crying to be rescued.

I think it's his eternal optimism that cheers me up. I just know he's thinking "right - today I am gonna master this thing!....oh shit.....muuuuuuummmmmm"

TimrousBeastie Mon 08-Apr-13 22:39:46

when big cat flops down in her bed with her belly up so you can rub it and when wee cat lies across the top of the radiatorsmile

Sparklingbrook Mon 08-Apr-13 22:42:08

Just everything. She is perfect.

Dcat1 thinks he is a ninja & tries to climb down my shoulder to get at what I'm eating but he is far to big and clumsy to be a ninja grin

Dcat2 how whenever he is asleep he looks extra comfy all the time

Dcat3 I love her colouring

UnrequitedSkink Mon 08-Apr-13 22:44:16

I love how my cat is a mardy cow to everyone except me.

The way she stretches her paws up to me while staring at me lovingly grin

ThatVikRinA22 Mon 08-Apr-13 22:47:53

i adore her. she is cute as a bugs ear. smile

and she loves being brushed. wave a comb and she comes running
she only drinks out of a glass
she has never ever caught or killed any other living creature.

NeoMaxiZoomDweebie Mon 08-Apr-13 22:49:10

Oooh only ONE thing?? Well....I love the way my Siamese lies in bed with me, under the duvet with both of his paws on my chin. I think he's making sure I don't go anywhere.

NeoMaxiZoomDweebie Mon 08-Apr-13 22:50:40

Oh oh I said thew WRONG thing!

Mine also says "Mama" when he meows. I like that best.

blush I retract the first "thing".

feetheart Mon 08-Apr-13 22:53:37

The way slightly dim boy-cat wraps himself around DS's head and they both fall asleep together almost every night.

Parisbanana Mon 08-Apr-13 22:54:27

I love the way my cat doesn't really know how to meow. He makes a sort of chirruping noise more like a bird than a cat. I blame it on the couple of pigeons that used to sit on our windowsill when he was a kitten.
Anyway he's almost 19 now so don't think he's going to learn now smile

Doinmummy Mon 08-Apr-13 22:55:35

The way she lies on her side and drags herself round and round the edge of the rug.

Hassled Mon 08-Apr-13 22:56:10

The fact that even though we have three of them they still don't have the collective strength (or, to be frank, care enough) to keep Nasty Local Bully Cat out of the garden.

sashh Tue 09-Apr-13 04:27:25

The way she has to be in the same room as a human, even if that means following you to the toilet or sitting on the edge of the bath.

Bigbossycat had a purr like a lion, if you suspect she is hiding somewhere & call her the rumble gives her away!

Smallbossycat belongs to DD2 & will chirrup to find her if she can't see her. She is so sweet when DD2 is ill, sleeping near her with a paw on her cheek or leg!

Madratlady Tue 09-Apr-13 05:22:53

Madcat1 makes a noise like a telephone when you give her attention.

Madcat2 just wants to be on my lap all the time.

TheSloppelganger Tue 09-Apr-13 05:51:46

The way little cat demolishes cardboard boxes. She goes mad for them and spends hours licking them, chomping them, and then finally ripping great soggy chewed bits off - which she then dementedly spits at people. She is the most bizarre cat I've ever encountered, but we're very fond of her.

The way big cat clambers into laps and flops over on her back with her head against your upper arm, legs in the air so you have to cradle her with your arm like you would a baby. Then she wiggles her tummy at you - strongly hinting that you should rub it, and when you do she hangs her tongue out and purrs like a diesel engine. Sometimes she dribbles a bit, but I'm sure she would deny that, because she is a Very Dignified cat most of the time.

marzipanned Tue 09-Apr-13 10:22:28

Lovely thread!

Angry cat - despite his fury at the world for making him a domestic cat rather than a lion, he gets very soppy and purry whenever his upper back is scratched and starts sticking his tongue in and out very quickly. Sometimes he forgets to put it back in again when the scratching is done (but don't tell him, he would be mortified)

Simple cat - the way, when you pick him up, he puts both his paws around your neck and gives you a very enthusiastic, and often rather slobbery, head butt

So hard to choose just one but both of these melt my heart!

Lovethesea Tue 09-Apr-13 10:47:32

RescueCatHugeTabby's utter tolerance of DD and DS. He came last year when they were 2 and 3 and he has never bitten, scratched or shown any aggression to them. In spite of the cuddles, cars driven on his back, helicopters being landed on him and a game of jumping over him as he lays down. He doesn't move, he doesn't care, he just likes their company even though they are quite mad. I love that streak of calm acceptance in him.

RescueCatTinyTortie came a fortnight ago and I love her feisty attitude in a kitten sized body. She is totally unafraid of the kids, of RescueCat1 and the one time Cat1 tried a playful pounce she swore so much the air turned blue and he's had a respectful distance since. Love it.

MrsTyrionLannister Tue 09-Apr-13 20:27:30

BeastCat - the way he sticks his tongue out at you, just a little bit. Its adorable

SoppyCat - The way he jumps onto the bath in the morning when i'm in the loo and demands i give him a kiss

MintyyAeroEgg Tue 09-Apr-13 20:32:55

My 13 y/o black and white cat is the friendliest cat in cat-dom.

If we have a visitor ... he is there!

If we have someone in to fix the boiler ... he is there!

If my cleaner comes very Thursday ... he is there!

If I put my arse on the sofa (rarely) he is there! cuddling up for a stroke. If

If I come home from a day at work he is out in the front garden waiting.

If I come home from 2 weeks holiday and have left him in the care of a pet sitter he is OUTRAGED and yowls a LOT!

He is the most sociable cat that ever did live. Infact, he is a dog in cat's clothing.

monsterchild Tue 09-Apr-13 20:35:04

I love that minor monstercat sits on the changing table so ds can kick at her while I change him. She just purrs.
Major monstercat must drink from the bath tap every time anyone uses the loo

merlincat Wed 10-Apr-13 15:22:52

The way my Bengal kittens come tearing into the bathroom whenever someone goes in so they can jump on the loo seat and watch the flush.

The look of utter contempt on the Siamese face when they do the above.

The way my ASBO wrestles with the kittens and gets them in a simultaneous headlock but grooms each of them in turn when they've conked out.

The zen-like calm and kindness of our ancient Main Coon

StuffezLaBouche Wed 10-Apr-13 16:01:31

I love the way my boy "talks."
When he's being ignored he sometimes comes out with "oh nooooo! Noooooo!" Cheers me right up.

erowid Wed 10-Apr-13 18:14:29

Playing kitty fishing. I lie in bed and throw out a long ribbon whilst holding onto one end and kitty will leap up from out of no-where and roll around licking and biting the ribbon every time. Then she'll jump up, run off and hide then wait for you to throw the line out again.

bootsycollins Thu 11-Apr-13 09:02:53

I love sneaking up on bootsycat when he's all curled up and snoring away on dd's bed and he chirps while I cover him in kisses

piratecat Thu 11-Apr-13 09:07:56

his fangs.

black cat, with fangs too big. bless. the vet said he'd grow into them, but he hasn't.

soooo cute!

thebestpossibletaste Thu 11-Apr-13 21:12:03

I love it when my Siamese talks to me and I love the way the kitten cuddles with the dog.

bootsycollins Thu 11-Apr-13 21:22:19

I'm away for the week and I'm really missing my dc (darling cat) sad

Having a lovely time but it'll be sooooo good to be reunited, I miss his pink little nose.

piratecat Fri 12-Apr-13 08:26:51

a couple i knew were away once and rang their cat at home and left a message on the answering machine. this was pre dc.grin

I have four kittens aged two weeks (Ragdoll crosses) who I got after a friend's cat was stolen six months ago, and was dumped whilst in labour in a bin bag. It was found dead with one other dead kitten, they got taken to the vet, vet recognised the cat and contacted my friend but my friend couldn't care for the kittens and I volunteered.

Tiffin- the way she kind of flop crawls. She tries to push herself up but doesn't quite manage to do it fully and 'walls' even though her stomach is still on the ground. And then she kind of stretches out her front to walk but her back paws make tiny steps so it doesn't work very well. She'll. probably get there in a week and a bit.

Gracie- she has the pinkest little nose ever. It's very noticeable, even comparing her with the others. An adorable, pale pink. She kind of looks at you pathetically, with a slightly twitchy little pink nose which I kind of have my eyes drawn too all the time.

Jessie- her purr. She is the first one! And it's so adorable. I lift her up and put her in my lap and stroke her and she kind of makes a weird purring noise (almost a hiss but it's a purr) and she does it when I rub her stomach too.

Samba- he 'cries' for food. It's adorable (and he's not upset, just...demanding). He makes a cute kitten version of a cawing bird! It's lovely. It sounds a bit like this but he only does it when we stop the feed of formula.

Walk, not walls.

Lindyhopper29 Fri 12-Apr-13 17:22:06

My big fat ginger and white cat stands up on the bench outside the living room window when he wants to come indoors. Then when I open the door, he refuses to come in and I have to go to the bench and carry him in,

Sad and lazy, but very sweet.

nipersvest Fri 12-Apr-13 17:22:19

he doesn't meow, he quacks, and when he runs he runs like a rabbit.

MrsSchadenfreude Fri 12-Apr-13 19:49:38

I love the way that Big Pussy Boy sleeps near my feet at night, with one giant paw on my leg or foot. If I roll over, there is frantic patting until he finds me again, then a contented sigh as he goes back to sleep with his paw on me.

Tiny Kitten's permanent expression of outrage. (Big Pussy is none too bright and looks permanently bewildered.)

TheNebulousBoojum Fri 12-Apr-13 20:23:50

The tiny, whistling snore.
Sometimes I walk into the room and don't know where she is, and then I listen and...then .....(snore) grin

JaffaCakesAreCAKES Fri 12-Apr-13 20:30:29

His huge shovel-like paws

tigerdriverII Fri 12-Apr-13 20:36:50

I have a boy and girl, litter mates, never been separated.

I love the way they both roll over and have to be tickled when they come in from their adventures.

I love the way my girl grooms her brother.

I don't love the way he beats her up!

I don't love the presents they bring (rabbit's eyeball on the doorstep, anyone).

They are totally adorable though.

juneybean Fri 12-Apr-13 20:39:10

When she comes in at 5am after her night on the tiles and climbs into bed with me.

something2say Sun 14-Apr-13 22:02:28

We have a routine when I get in from work--when I can be bothered-- whereby he lies down on his rum wagging his tail and turning this way and that to see where I am. I meanwhile hide really obviously and stalk him knowing full well he can see me. I tip toe around the corners and so on and then I pounce on him and he runs about waiting for me to catch him and give him a massive cuddle which he pretends he doesn't like but secretly does.

cozietoesie Sun 14-Apr-13 22:29:16

The 'whuffles' Seniorboy makes when he's dreaming in bed with me. A cat actually dreaming is such a signal of trust that it tickles me every time.

elvisola Sun 14-Apr-13 22:39:30

My boy cat fetches sticks, he doesn't drop them at my feet though, you have to wrestle him for it!

gringosnake Mon 15-Apr-13 11:55:51

my indoor cat's hatred of road sweepers/milk floats/petrol tankers amd school children lingering outside the school opposite. Generally the treatmwnt of the window as a 84" flat screen tv

fussychica Sun 21-Apr-13 16:28:23

Myone jumps up on a spare chair at the dining table and pop her head up like she's sitting at the table. Soooooo cute - never tries to steal food, just likes to join us for dinnergrin

Helpnoidea Sun 21-Apr-13 16:47:27

Lost my boy on Good Friday so this is making me smile and cry at the same time. So many things He did made me smile. The best was the way he'd fall asleep with his tongue poking out and not realise when he woke up. It would take ages for him to realise......

Sunnywithshowers Sun 21-Apr-13 17:11:58

My lovely late ginge had a hind leg amputated due to cancer. He used to lie down pull himself sideways along the fence for fun.

Oscar (19) is the boss of our street. He has a hideous yowl that he uses to suppress dissent among other cats, and was shouting at a fox a few weeks ago.

akaWisey Fri 26-Apr-13 16:50:02

Alfie the rag doll cat. The way he runs down the rather steep stairs in the morning and from behind with all his fur and knickerbocker legs he can hardly get there without just rolling head over heels.

Lulu rag doll cat sister. Regularly 'collapses' in front of me so that I have to stop what I'm doing to rub her tummy and chin while she purrs and smiles.

I love my cats, I do.

haggisaggis Fri 26-Apr-13 17:02:31

The way black cat sleeps - always looks so comfy.
The way my very large Maine Coon folds himself up to sleep in a paper carrier bag (we've got loads of other places he could sleep - but know, that's where he goes)

BeautifullyBurnt Wed 01-May-13 10:27:47

I love that when I get in from work my little boy climbs on the back of the couch and stretches his face up to mine so I have to bend down and give him Eskimo kisses for about ten minutes before he begs for food. =]

Fuzzymum1 Mon 06-May-13 21:07:22

Cat 1 has black whiskers on side and white the other (thanks to her tortie colouring)
Cat 2 is a big ginger sweetheart - his constant upbeat attitude and love of attention
Cat 3 has the shiniest fur
Cat 4 and her foibles - she won't eat if her dish is on the floor and insists on having her dinner on my desk (which is an improvement from on the TV unit!)
Cat 5 has classic ginger tabby swirls that say LOL down one side of him :D
Cat 6 and her big owl-like eyes - she's incredibly timid but very loving when she trusts you.
Cat 7 - our maine coon cross has the floofiest tail

Corygal Mon 06-May-13 21:11:58

I love being woken by Mr Cory - at dawn, yowling, ripping up the newspaper, then trampolining on my face with pneumatic-drill-purring and the finale, dragging my feet out of bed, big toe wedged in his teeth.

Take that, Eva Longoria and yer kitty alarm clock.

Taffeta Mon 06-May-13 21:17:09

Taffcat likes it in the potting shed when I am sowing seeds or potting on. He sits on the workbench and observes proceedings. Occasionally he'll swish his massive fluffy tail and knock over a few pots, but that's OK.

rowrowrowtheboat Mon 06-May-13 22:01:45

Row row girl always says hello when she comes in, row row boy for being handsome, but such a softie

BibiBlocksberg Mon 06-May-13 22:55:54

The way tigger jerks awake from a dream then looks at me, I say 'not to worry sweet pea, you had a nasty dream but I'm watching out for you'

To that he always chirrups and goes back to sleep.

The way smudge is so flexible and does her 'Jane Fonda' act with such ease (leg up straight right by the side of her head) all she needs is a little pink leg warmer and the look would be complete smile
