The litter tray

How can you stop the little beasts climbing the Christmas tree??

So Christmas trees and cats.

I have two cats, the boy is a big lazy lump and isn't interested in the tree at all but the girl has turned into a demon. She is literally climbing it every two seconds with a crazed look in her eye and whizzing around the house, she's overexcited and is hissing at her brother when he goes near the tree, which is making him quite bemused (I can't remember her ever hissing at him).

Sooooo what to do?? I'm willing to take the tree down as a last resort but I would like to try some other stuff first. At the minute we when she climbs the tree we are calmly removing her from the room until she settles down but she's started running away from us whenever we go near her and I feel really sorry for her.

Any sprays you can get for the tree?
Any tips?
Any photos of your cat in the tree?

How can you stop the little beasts climbing the Christmas tree??

My cat did this last year( female kitten.) Thankfully she has no interest in the trees this time, apart from batting a few bobbles, which she was sharply reprimanded for. I've no advice I'm afraid as nothing stopped her last year.

Weight the bottom so it doesn't tip and fall on her.

Cats like climbing & usually she has to go out to do this but it's cold, in her mind you've rather thoughtfully bought a huge toy in for her while it's so cold outside.

Most farm suppliers stock electric rabbit fencing. Maybe go for the sheep fencing for extra security?! I think I saw a post saying that those dried orange slices deterred her cats? Worth a try maybe?
