Yes but your vet needs to sell you a prescription.

I'd always get flea treatment from the vet.

  1. some flea treatments are toxic.
  2. flea resistance varies area to area and your vet is best placed to know which products currently aren't working locally.

So I'm not sure seeing your vet for a prescription and buying online will be cheaper than popping in and buying a pack.

You can buy Advantage without prescription. Same stuff made by same company but only kills fleas, not all the parasites your cat will never encounter like Advocate does. It's much cheaper too.

So Advocate is a monthly de-flea treatment that also contains a worming ingredient.
Advantage is the same de-fleaing treatment without the worming treatment.

So couldn't I just use Advantage as an ongoing preventative de-fleaing treatments and only treat my cats if they actually have worms?
