Kitten's reaction to vaccines

Hi our kitten had his second lot of jabs today and was microchipped at the same time on the vet's advice. He is usually the most affectionate cat I've ever seen, wants to be held and fussed constantly, purrs as soon as you touch him. But all afternoon he has run away from us and any time he is touched or picked up he is screaming and biting hard, he drew blood a little while ago when I had to move him off the tabke. We are leaving him alone now as he is resting in his bed but I'm worried about him. Is this normal?
