Replacing broken cat flap in glass door?

The ever adventurous Bogbastard shut his tail in the cat flap yesterday how do you even do that?. He now has an interestingly kinked tail, checked out by the vet and declared not fractured. The cat flap on the other hand appears to be kaput. It's in a double glazed door - can you remove the broken one and fit the same size into the hole?

Also DH wonders if we can get a different sort of cat flap that won't trap his tail. I am at a loss but any suggestions? Had wondered about simply getting a bigger one, but he did the same thing at Christmas when he was a kitten half the size he is now.

Maybe I need some method of reminding him that he has a foot of huge fluffy tail out the back which also needs to come in! A tail alarm?!

When we had new windows fitted the fitter explained to DH how easy and cheap it is to fit a cat flap in glass so I would think replacing an existing one would be fairly straightforward.

We have a Sureflap pet door rather than their cat flap. Although Harry isn't a big cat I can't imagine him squeezing himself through a standard cat flap!

I'm not sure what to suggest about the tail issue! Before we had the microchip flap with a timer Harry used to use his tail to make the cat flap shut quietly!
