My cat got knocked down & killed today

She was such a lovely, sociable cat. I know we'll really miss her. The DC are devastated. Her grown up kitten is a bit confused.

Thanks everyone. We buried her in the garden, and I spent the whole afternoon comforting the DC, that it hadn't really sunk in. I'm pretty cut up about it now. I have had cats all of my life, and she was by far the nicest cat I've ever had. She would hurl herself at visitors' feet and would keep doing it until they acknowledged her and said hello, which was pretty embarrassing if it was the painter or the plumber. If you walked past her she would reach out with her paw to stop you, and make sure she got a stroke and a cuddle, and you could only go after she deemed she had had enough.

This happened to us 3 years ago and 1 month.

Thing is our cat was a little bustard. He attacked everyone. I was 9 months pregnant and really worried about whether he'd attack the baby.

But to see such a feisty character reduced to such a pitiful state was awful.

I'm so sorry - what a gorgeous girl. This happened to me when my Charlie was just 2. Last month I found a cat who had been knocked over and had to break the news to the owner and her teenager so I understand how hard this hits the children. It's so heartbreaking and painful. But she was loved by a family who clearly gave her a great life. Big hugs xxx
