Don't know why I'm posting really, I'm just so gutted and upset, just wanted to talk to people who understand.

DD got a text from a friend to say a cat like ours had been knocked over up the road. We went out looking and found him. DD was distraught, so was I. We brought him back and DH buried him in the garden.

He was only 8, a big daft ginger. He dribbled on me when he got stroked. He used to sit with his paws all wrapped around our other cat. The other cat keeps going and sitting at the bottom of the garden where we buried him. I miss him so much already. Sad

Worst of all, we are having a new puppy today, it's supposed to be such a happy day and I can't stop crying.

Thanks for listening.

I'm so sorry. It's a terrible time for you all. Hopefully the new puppy will win you over, unless you can delay a day or too?

For you Flowers

Oh you poor thing. My heart goes out to you. I completely get this and I know how painful it is. Don't let anybody invalidate your grief by making you feel like he was 'just a cat'. Draw comfort from your family. Know that he probably didn't suffer, he probably didn't know and you loved him a lot so he must have had a good life. Think about that, and all the happy times you shared.

I am so so sorry. It's horrible when you lose them. Take comfort in the love you gave him throughout his life.

Thank you so much for your kind words. I am trying to keep a face on for the kids but I'm crying again now. He was a big daft lump, but so soft and sweet, he was never vicious and was a crap hunter.

I'm just so sad he will never come up for strokes and to knead me and dribble everywhere again. My other cat just looks lost without him.

Thank you again. X

I'm so sorry- I lost two of mine to the road, so when we got our now elderly twins we decided they were not going out unless supervised.

He's left a huge hole- they are never "just a cat".
