The litter tray

Anyone else's cat wipe their bum on the carpet?!

I'm at the end of my tether!

My cat seems to feel the need to wipe her bum on the carpet after each poo. She has her poo, walks through the bathroom and kitchen to the dining room, sits down and drags her bum.

It's getting stressful as I have a 5 month old and we're about to move into a brand new house with freshly laid carpets.

Has anyone else experienced this? Any ideas on how to stop it?

She needs to be an indoor only cat as she is completely blind, so going outside is not an option.

She needs her anal glands emptying probably, get an appointment with your vet nurse for a look?

I know you said she's an indoor cat but have you wormed her recently? It could be that she's a bit itchy from worms, perhaps picked them up from a cattery if she's been to one. Have you changed her food recently because she could have a slightly upset stomach and be choosing to clean her bum on the carpet rather than wash it herself!

Was going to say anal glands or worms...

I have 2 sisters and one does this bit not the other. She doesn't do it every time and she has been wormed.

She is much cleaner than her sister so I put it down to a quirk but may get her looked again

Thanks, yes, all up to date with workers but I'll take her in for an anal gland check, that hadn't even crossed my mind! Thank you :-)
