How long to keep rescue boys indoors?

We have had them a week and a half. DH is talking about letting them outside in a week. I am a bit dubious. They seem to spend most of the day staring at the garden longingly though.

Are they settled and happy? Only it was a good 6 weeks before ours were, and once they were happy in the whole house we started to let them out.

We (Celia Hammonds) recommend a minimum of three weeks.

Thanks - they are happy enough and more settled every day. Little Ginge is still a bit nervy. They come running at the rattle of a Dreamies packet so that might help. Will see how they are come Bank Holiday - that will be three weeks. I'm bit convinced they will go far at first and our garden is massive

I am away and just had a text from DH - Big Ginge escaped! Took DH 10 minutes to get the bugger back.

Our rescue cat seemed to settle very quickly with us, but we weren't going to let her out for a few weeks. She managed to escape out the back door in less than 2! DH and I couldn't catch her. Fortunately she came back in herself after half an hour (we left the back door open). Today she ran out of the front door when dd let herself in, but dd managed to catch her :) She is very determined!
