The litter tray

Cat having a wee on bathroom mat-why?

We have a new (3 months) cat. He has a litter tray and regularly goes outside, but lately has gone into the bathroom to wee on the bath mat. Which I keep replacing. Is there any reason why he keeps doing this?

Has the vet checked for urine infections?.

Don't leave a mat down?
Is he on dried food?
Does mat smell of new plastic?
Is he neutered?

Get the vet to check nothing else is going on but sometimes it just happens...

I brought a lovely new mat for my new front door (just moved in at the time) 8 years old, puddy cat never done anything out of the originary good bill of health for her never naughty - peed all over it

Cleaned it with special cleaning products - put it back down peed all over it

Determined to beat this... Placed nearer to the kitchen, so closer to food approx 20" from the front door - doesn't pee on it

DP moved it, approx 5" from door peed all over it...

It's now 10" from the front door and no issues...

We also tried sprays etc etc - honestly just pick up your bath mat and put it over the bath... Job solved!

But check out the cat as they can do this to tell you something is wrong

Cats are crafty little buggers though, Penguine. my little lad just pulls the bathmat off the side of the bath. Fortunately he doesn't pee on it though. He just has a thing about clearing surfaces.

I suspect it's related to the fluffiness of the mat. He likes a posh pissHmm

MCat was copiously sick all over the back door mat, if that's any consolation. Had to bin it, (mat, not catGrin)
