The litter tray

To catch a mouse?

MCat gallops into my bedroom, Little Monsieur following closely. I just know they've got a mouse. Eventually find mouse, frozen in fear, with LM patting it. I manage to grab mouse, took into kitchen, give it the once over to see if there are any wounds etc. Silly me wasn't holding it firmly enough, and it managed to climb inside my dressing gown, then leap onto the floor. It's now hiding behind the (heavy) washing machine, lots of ancient plumbing.

I've put down a humane (non-kill) mouse trap with some crushed up Kraves and chocolate as bait. Unfortunately I have no peanut butter. I've had to move the thugs' food and tray into the living room, and keep the kitchen door closed.

Any suggestions welcome (is there a Pied Piper for mice?) And please keep your fingers crossed I find little mouse trapped, so I can set him free. The alternative is pulling out heavy washing machine, to remove a stinky little corpse. :(

This has happened a few times now - one mouse, one screaming frog - both I was able to catch and release, without trapping. I think MC is teaching LM to hunt.

Chocolate should do it. Grab a picnic and leave mouse to it.

Have stern words with mcat.

Oh yeah, we've had mice in the house for several days because Archcat liked having them around to play with Hmm. Fortunately they were easy to find because he would sit patiently for hours on end in front of whatever bookcase they were hiding behind. He's locked in one room at night and the mouse would use that opportunity to change hiding places. Can you keep the two lads out of the kitchen at night to give the mouse a chance to come out and then hide somewhere more accessible for you?

Hope you and the two boys are doing OK, Rubbish.

Sadly no mouse in humane trap.

I knew where he was because the furry murderers were scooping their paws under the washing machine. I've tried moving trap into various locations in that area, but still no luck after several days.

I tried Reeses Pieces (chocolate, peanut butter), but no joy. So will have to get a helpful friend to help me lift up washing machine to find the little mousey corpse. Sad

Best do it before the smell sets in. (Remembering a present left for me under a piece of furniture in the hall.) Sad
