Henceforth he shall be known as FatCatSlim* having reached his target weight of 6.4kg. In July he was about 7.3kg and it's been a hard slog with me being hardline about measuring his food and ignoring his piteous miaows.
He is celebrating with a small pile of Dreamies :)

My resting 'bitch face' always has the vet stuttering 'he's a big boy, but errrr he's ok, just doesn't want to get any bigger' when Jake comes off the scales so i've not had to face the nightmare that i imagine a dieting cat to be :)
6.4kg is an okay weight for a cat?! Good grief, he must be huge (and gloriously cuddly )
Ours are 4kg and 3kg.

I've come on to make a not-so-stealthy boast about my DCat who has lost 50% of his body weight (over years and years, maybe 10).
He was enormously overweight when we got him, over 10kg. He's now 5.4kg. Fortunately for us he's a scaredy cat and hasn't ever been begging round the neighbours.
He is a magnificent beast, who doesn't need a tummy tuck, no not at all
Yep, the swinging flap. He's not remotely self concious of it. A real role model
