The litter tray

Cat biting staples and has pulled one out

My cat had surgery a week ago on his knee, so he currently has a wound with 14 staples down the side of his leg. He has been wearing a collar when we are not there to watch him but has somehow managed to pull one of the staples out.

Do I need to take him to the vet? Obviously I will keep a closer eye on him and should he pull more out I will take him but at the moment, it is just one staple that has come out. The wound looks OK, not gaping open or anything and the vet is a 2hr round trip.

He is due back at the Vet on Wednesday anyway for a checkup up and staple removal so do you think he will be OK till then or do I need to go sooner?

I would think if the op was a week ago it will be fine, can't believe your vet is a 2 hour round trip though!

Ive had a closer look and it looks OK so will leave him for now and monitor it.

Our usual Vet is closer, he was referred to a specialist an hour away for this condition. More than once we have spent 4 hours driving per day. An hour to take him, leave him there, an hour home then another hour back to collect him and another hour home again . Will be glad when he's all fixed!
