Cattery advice needed

due to moving house and there being time between old house and new house I had to put my cats into a cattery. Originally it was
Only going to be one week but now it may be 4. How badly will my cats be affected? Can anyone think of a better alternative. They can't come with me as I am sleeping on friends sofas.

I think I'd probably keep them there rather than moving them somewhere else - how are they doing at the moment?

ok but to be honest I haven't checked to much as I feel too guilty. What happens to cats in long term cattery. Will they still remember me?

Could you go and visit them over that time, with treats maybe?

I am sure they won't forget you after four weeks but good for then to know you haven't left. Longest mine have been is 11 days and they were still happy to see us. So long as you trust the Cattery to take good care of them I am sure they will be fine. Visiting them is probably as much for you as them!

I think that with any of my own cats, I'd likely take a different view, Dulcet. Most cats have a way of making the best of things and I wouldn't want them to have any thought of me as anything but 'Mummy = Home and Safety'. (Going would be fine but I would be concerned about the leaving again without them.)

I'd be on the phone most days though! Wink
