Bored cat?

We have 2 rescue cats brother and sister, he is no bother at all she is a pain in the arse though so gorgeous I become a soft touch

4am she tears up the stairs, jumps on us, finds anything in the bedroom to make a noise. It's driving us bat shit crazy. We've tried shutting bedroom door but she then tears up the carpet. Ignoring her, but then she gets on my pillow and tries shredding my hair. Tried playing with her before bed then feeding her once she's done. We have lots of toys and they get lots of attention but this is her favourite game 'wake the slaves at 4am'

Is she bored/hungry or just a pain in the arse? She's a fussy eater too which is another thing. If I get up and feed her I know I know, it's rare but I know! she will eat which is why we started playing with her and then feeding her much later at night. It worked for a couple of nights then she's back to buggering around.

Both free range so she can come and go as she pleases.

We usually feed them 2 pouches a day and half a scoop of biscuits, the vet today says she's slightly overweight which I find hard to believe as she's very small and barely eats. Anyone got any advice?

You're right, playing with them before bedtime usually helps. Have you got her a Flying Frenzy toy? Most cats are mad for it.

She's not a tortoiseshell by any chance?

They're British shorthair, have got something similar to flying frenzy but will look again!

I'd lock her in a room with a tray and food etc and go to bed.

I need my sleep.

ASBO cat was delighted the night I went down with Noro virus and had to put a wash on at 4:30. It was like "finally, they've realised 4 is party time".

I'm a fairly early riser so if I do get up she's very happy and chatty for a while then buggers off to bed!

ASBO briefly slept with us, on nights he was especially annoying I'd ring Dh during the day and he'd ask me to poke asbo with something pointy.

The cat doesn't have to go to work so what do they care.

2 choices, try to train cat out of it by ignoring (cat wants it more though) or lock puss up.
