She doesn't seem distressed. She has let me have a look and it seems a little bloodshot and is weeping clear fluid.
First thing she did when she came in was to go straight to her food bowl.

I'm thinking leave it until morning.

Your thoughts ladies?

Vets evening surgery. Eyes can be lost so its best to get her there pronto.

I always vet right away with eye problems. Is she insured?

She's insured so money isn't a problem.

That's good - it's just that things can get a bit ...approximate..... at this time of year. Luck of the draw, really.

I'd give them a quick buzz. Eyes can go downhill real quickly if there's an issue.

Just called. They said bathe it and call back in the morning if it's got worse.

Good luck to her then. Let us know how she gets on.

Whenever my pets have had minor eye issues, I've bathed (cotton wool) in a warm salt water solution. Often clears up the problem, but in any event, helps to soothe until you can get to your emergency appointment

Someone advised (can't remember who) to use optrex infected eyes solution.

I seem to recall that Lone advised bathing with cold tea. (Apparently the tannin has an anti-inflammatory effect or something.)

Looking a bit better now. She's a gannet and is pestering me for dinner.

Cold tea good for bathing eyes - hope she's better soon

Thanks for asking Cozie.
She seems fine. Both eyes open but blinking with that eye a little more than usual.
Back to normal, Christmas tree chewing, self today.

Perhaps she got a grass seed caught in there or something.
