And having had them three months, it's hard to remember life without them
I still have moments of horrible horrible grief for Morph, who loved me like no other and I long for his paws round my neck, but Obie and Ophie are fabulous and their personalities are developing by the day.
Ophie looked tiny (for a Maine Coon) at first but has had a nice growth spurt and is ordinary smallish cat sized already. She is sweet and timid and snuggles on a lap. She is a great talker and calls for Obie if she can't see him.
Obie, though you can't see it, is getting BIG. ..I have hopes he might even be giant cat like Morph was, he has a fantastic tail already and is long , lean and badass to the core. He's clever and nosy and woe betide any bare toes.. he loves to attack them!
Best of all our 15 yr old Portia has accepted them, and is happily sleeping in the living room when they are there, will eat next to them (she hated Morph so this is pretty amazing) She has slapped Obie around a fair few times, which he needed frankly, and she is definitely the boss! He has learned not to go in her cardboard box and will wait patiently if she is eating .
Obie has now broken one lamp, 5 phone cables, eaten my macbook charger, several wine glasses and now he's allowed out in daylight, is trying to pounce on all the local cats.. . He's not a snuggler yet.. prefers to plonk next to us, unless we are eating , in which case he will attempt to steal ANYTHING.. he has even eaten broccoli!!! He's also a real chatterbox.
Ophies ear tufts make me very happy...
