The litter tray

Molly - fairly elderly rescue cat but now a hugely loved family pet - will be going to the vet this afternoon.
Has a tumour on her face that is spreading. I think she's almost or completely blind now.
Don't think she's in pain but the tumour, which was under control in that it stayed the same size. Vet said keep it clean, that's it.

But now we face something more serious. Would appreciate any positive thoughts Molly's way! Will let you know.

Dear all

Thank you very much for your kind messages of support for Molly. The vet said that whatever was going on on the outside was actually worse inside. She was completely blind and the infection had spread to very, very close to her eyes. She could barely hold her head up. Such a very sudden deterioration.

So, with gentle strokes and kisses from us all, Molly fell asleep. The vet was super kind and I was very grateful for that.

Molly was a feisty girl - overcame any number of illnesses - she came to us in rather a bad way but, boy, are we glad we found each other. 6 years of happy living for Molly and 6 years of wonderful companionship for us.

Here's to all our feline friends -

Thanks again - I was sitting at work, DS phoned me, and I knew that this community would understand! I'll be back - Molly has a beautiful brother - they didn't always see eye to eye, especially when Molly first arrived but we think they loved each other really.

StickEm - so sorry. It's very hard, isn't it? I hope things are slowly getting easier for you - lots and lots of extra strokes and cuddles for the ones left behind. Take care x

Oh no that's really sad I'm so sorry Sad
We had to get our gorgeous cat put to sleep just a few days after we brought our DD home after being born. It was devastating. But recently my DP found a lovely moggy in need of a home so we took a chance (as we already had another cat and didn't know if they'd get on) and she's settled in well. Amazing how they all have different personalities but all still etch on your heart!
Take comfort that you and your family gave Molly love and a caring home. Hope you're all ok
