The litter tray

It's all my fault, apparently...

Cat has been on the rampage since about 5am. He keeps going half way up the stairs and yowling. He jumped on me in bed at 6 and again half an hour later. He has lots of food and water and he doesn't appear to have been sick anywhere so the only explanation I can think of is that it's raining and it must be my fault!

Must be! Mine's happily cuddled up in bed with me .

Go and get a load of toys out for him to entertain himself with. And fgs stop the rain soon!

I have turned the lights on downstairs and he's gone quiet, he might be more gullible than I thought!!

Unless he's up to something....

Of course it's your fault - it's the flip side of being omnipotent. Even Seniorboy, that most equable of cats, was given to moaning at me a month or two back if I didn't produce sunshine to order for him. (All is forgiven me this morning because I've cracked and turned on the central heating - so while he may not yet have moved off the bed, he's listening approvingly to the gurgle of radiators. He knows what that means.)

Still trying to resist the heating but I don't think my resolve will last much longer. He is now asleep but in his grumpy position with his back to me that means he's sulking!

Seniorboy is given to having a mini-rampage when he wants to have a poo. Has he used his tray very recently?

Yep same here. Golden kitty is currently staring wistfully out the window but prior to that was practically bouncing off the walls running around the house because he won't go out. He did chance a quick wee when DP got up then came straight back in and shook himself dry dog-style right next to me on the bed while I was still snoozing Angry

What a pesky way to wake you up! Tray have def been used overnight as I vacuumed last night and now there is litter everywhere!

Then he likely wants you to clean it up/give him praise for using it. Good grief - where are your servanting standards this morning?

My two weren't happy with me this morning either. Monty went out the catflap, back in a minute later and gave me a look that was somewhere between "how dare you let this happen!" and "why didn't you at least warn me?". He's stubborn so went back out again after that. Rolo on the other hand, popped out for all of about five seconds before he was back inside crying and climbing up on my lap despite me trying to eat a bowl of cereal at the time. When I came to leave and opened the back door, he got to the threshold and the wind blew on him so he ran back into the living room. Don't blame him given how horrible it was! (wish I could have done the same...)

What I love is when they try one door - the back door, say - and then go confidently to the other door on the assumption that the weather will be different there. Terrible sulks when it isn't.

Mine switched his staring wistfully from the back window to the front and was most dismayed to learn I'd made it rain out there too

I went out this morning and he was still complaining when I got back. Then my mum came round and he started telling her all about it too. Of course now the rain has stopped he is fast asleep on the sofa. I would happily swap days with him sometimes - he could go to work and I could lounge about all day!

I think I got some of the reverse of cat-judging this evening, since Monty reappeared in the garden shortly after I got home and was being super-affectionate. I think the gist in between the purrs was something along the lines of "you made it sunny this afternoon and I dried off by lazing in a flowerbed somewhere, clever hairless monkey got it right eventually!".

Okay, the little bit of my cheese that 'fell on the floor' next to him may have helped me get in his good books too...

Awww... Pleased he's forgiven you for the rain! I think I'm back in the good books too, we've been curled up watching tv together this evening.

Yes, i get important weather announcements. If it's a particularly bright moon, i get invited to go out and chase mice too. Hmm

She is currently asleep on my hand, having worn herself out trying to stop me typing.
