The litter tray

End of tether with fussy feline!

I am so tired of the fussy eating, 2 cats both ate very well then the queen decides she's had enough of the wet food.

Desperate to get her on to a good food, so we have tried all manor of good foods over the last year. She'll only eat food in jelly. 1 day she'll eat it next day just gives me a stern meow.

The crap gourmet she liked she's gone off but won't eat anything else.

We feed them 2 pouches a day each plus they have orijen dry food. Neither greedy, don't know what to do with the bugger.

Any suggestions??

Hmm. How old is she? (Older cats can get fussy sometimes but you don't want to be put under the paw by a relative youngster.)

(I'm assuming she's healthy and has had a recent vet check?)

Just a youngster then. My personal inclination would be to hang tough for a little and see who wins out. (I'm pretty indulgent with Seniorboy but he's an elderly gent and has to have meds at regular intervals so I can't be as firm as I would with a younger, fitter cat. I manage him by varying flavours and only putting down smallish amounts at more frequent intervals than with a young cat - they do like the food to be real fresh and toothsome.)

Are they indoor cats? (I'm wondering whether the girl in particular might be a bit bored and fretful and need more environmental stimulation.)

Maybe she's decided she prefers dried? (It's possible.) Have you thought of some different good quality dried and maybe put it in a feeding toy or two to provide some extra stimulation?

Both free range cats come in and put as they please, we swapped from Jwb dried which he ate but she didn't to Orijen which is a very good dried food and she likes that.

Haven't got time to put little bits down all day as both of us are at work. She's been like this on and off for 18 months it's driving me mad.

If you don't put wet down she meows non stop, put wet down she turns her nose up.

Neither like fish flavours, she'll only eat food in jelly. She is a bloody horror and I adore her

I ended up buying a range of single cans from the happy kitty company website then ticking off on a sheet which ones were preferred. Big hits were Om Nom Nom and Mac's.

My mums Ragdoll is very fussy and goes off things quickly ,his current favourite is Applaws chicken selection pack which is chicken ,chicken with cheese and chicken with pumpkin . The only thing he eats every day is his fresh prawns - he also is not keen in fishy cat food .
