Kate, come home

Kate (aged four, healthy and happy) absconded last night when a visitor left a door open that shouldn't have been open. Visitor wracked with remorse. Have put up posters, trawled streets, calling for her, received two phonecalls from dotty neighbours about how to find missing cats... and it has been raining quite heavily. Now it's getting dark I'm feeling very sad and worried. Any advice? Kate is the best cat ever. She has been endlessly patient with my five-year-old twins, is very loving and great company, follows me around like a dog... oh Kate WHERE ARE YOU?

PS she is an outside cat, but I don't let her go out the front as we live in London and there are lots of cars. Visitor let her out the front.

Have you reported her missing to all the local vets & the microchip company?.

Keep calling her.

Oh really don't worry. She'll be back. Leave food outside your front door day and night and let all your neighbours know. She'll be back within 24 hours - I would bet an awful lot on it. She knows where her home is, she will just be having a bit of an explore.

I just called her AND SHE CAME!!!!!! I have given her a whole big tin of tuna (so she'll probably puke in the night) and my shoulders actually ache with the worry of today / last night. But I can go to bed now. Thank you both so much for responding x
