Cat Fight HELP!

My cat has just got into a big scrap with the massive black mog from down the road. He has a nasty cut just above his right eye, it is bleeding and is just on the eyelid.

Thing is, he is already missing an eye from a previous cat fight (it had to be removed, I was told) so I really don't want to risk further infection.

There is quite a lot of blood, but I think is claws rather than teeth marks. I have cleaned with salt water and cotton wool, what else? Poor cat is so frightened.

:(

Poor cat. Don't put anything on it apart from the salt water and consider taking him to the vet tomorrow for antibiotics.

I'm assuming he's neutered. Do you know which cat he fights with? If so may be that one needs neutering to calm him down. It might be worth getting it done yourself if there's no other option.

Vets in the morning, they need to put the dye in his eyes and check for wounds on the eye.

Mines had a cut eyelid but didn't lose an eye.

Thanks, tcn I'm cleaning it but it's worryingly close to his one remaining eye. I've got some anti-biotics from the vet (from the last time he got into a fight) so can give him those if vet says he needs them.

Not sure about this other cat, I've never seen him before. It was a proper scrap and I'm surprised my boy didn't run from it. He was properly beaten up by a cat and a dog in his previous home and still has the scars from it. I couldn't bear it if he had to have another eye removed wibble

P.s He is neutered, and usually a real softie.

Hi fluffy he's quiet but he's been outside once or twice today, and sprayed all over the garden. It was a horrible fight, genuinely scary.

I've had to come to work and no vets appts available today but taking him tomorrow morning first thing. Poor little meezer, all cut up. At first I thought it had split his eyelid but I think it may be superficial, just lots of blood. He can see okay.

I forgot - he's a Siamese. They won't back down from a fight even if they're scared stiff. How did he get on at the vet?

(Can you offer him really good facilities inside the house even if he was previously used to going outside? He may stay in a bit more from choice if you could - especially with winter a-coming.)

Since the fight I've caught him scrapping twice more - he's a real teddy at home and I'm surprised he cares enough to bother fighting. Haven't been able to get him to the vets - on Tuesday they had no appointments and on Wednesday and today DD was off sick. Hoping to get him there tomorrow.

The wound looks like it's healing but he has lost fur in a big stripe down his eye. The blood has clotted but am going to take him to be checked up just in case.
