frontline not working? anyone else experienced this?

I have a very aloof house cat, he's five and loves me and my OH but is quite nervous around others. He doesn't go outside unless he's snuck out, as four years ago I used to let him out and he got fleas so bad my house was infested. Treated him when I moved and he's been flea free and indoors ever since. He stays at my dad's when I go on holiday and I know he sneaks out then so I have frontlined him religiously for the last four years.
We've never had a problem since. I hoover a lot anyway and wash bedding regularly after the awful time we had with fleas before. Yesterday I found a flea on him, and he's been scratchy and grooming lots. I indorexed the house yesterday even though I've not seen any in the house, and after a visit to the vet she couldn't find any on him! She gave me broadline which is very thick and gloopy and hopefully should sort the poor sod.
Has anyone else had issues with frontline and their cat? I won't entertain using bon martin products or Johnson as they're rubbish but thought I could trust frontline. It's not just something you can easily pick up in tesco so I always assumed it was good. I feel quite disappointed and upset that I thought I was doing the best for my moggy and the poor thing got fleas.
Annoyed even more that the broadline cost me 20 odd quid and I managed to empty the syringe all over me when I pulled the plunger too far!! I only have one treatment left now lol.

Frontline didn't work for us. Our vet said she's hearing more and more reports of people finding it doesn't work. We use advocate now and have never had a problem since switching.

Lots of reports on the board of Frontline not working in various places, Fruity. (Fleas becoming immune I guess.)

I use Broadline on Seniorboy (useful threads today because it reminded me he needed a treatment so I've just done him) and I'm surprised you found it difficult. I like the delivery. Remember that that will do him for worms as well though so you've saved that expense.

Front line hasn't been working properly for years now. It stopped working for us about 8years ago. We use Advocate instead.

It wasn't difficult cosie it was me being a plank and spilling it on myself! I thought the application was far easier than frontline and I feel like I know it's hit the right place on him. Always found frontline quite fiddly.

The vet told me she'd heard it wasn't working as well for some. I'm wondering if it has worked somewhat as he's not crawling but he shouldn't really get them at all. Poor bugger.

Can't find too much info on broadline but what I've read it seems to have good feedback. We'll see how he gets on. Indorex is death in a can it seems though already found two dead spiders which gives me the heebie jeebies! Going to do it again in a month.

We use advocate on both cats and dogs. We had a cat that was hugely allergic to fleas and FL just did not touch them.

I seem to recall that Indorex lasts for 12 months (happy to stand corrected on that one) so you may not need to do it as quickly unless you feel you missed somewhere. Stepford wife hoovering is also good including, in particular, any cracks and crevices - and they're a useful place to put the Indorex when you come to do it again.

I'm going to grab a can off amazon as it's far cheaper, I might wait and see how the pusscat copes in the meantime. He's currently fast asleep and not scratching, yey!
