I knew she wasn't well but thought because she's getting older and the heat.

Turns out she has quite a large tumour in the gut.

We need to find out if its spread.

Dreading the news and frickin gutted.

Oh, so sorry to hear about your old girl :( If she is at home with you, I hope you are able to give her gentle snuggles..The waiting to find out news is brutal, isn't it? Sending love and hugs from Secret and her four felines..xx

Lots of cuddles and treats then - maybe even take her for a snooze this afternoon or tomorrow afternoon if you're not booked for anything else. She might enjoy the closeness.

Let us know how things go on Monday.

I'm being extra careful if I pick her up in case it hurts.

She's such a lovely cat too, sweet and loving and my cat if you know what I mean.

Will let you know X

So more waiting for you both. (Is she on a regimen of treats at the moment?)

All the best for Friday and let us know how things go.

Yes she has three lots to choose from and extra chin rubs too :)

I know the situation. Since I thought Seniorboy was on his last legs in May, he's been on a regime of daily treats - in fact his previously reasonably healthy diet has pretty well gone to pot. Blighter is playing it for all he's worth as well! ('Ooohh, not too keen on that brand of roast chicken..... Where's the kind I had on Monday?')

Haha so true they have us well trained, that's for sure.

The old girl decided to go for a walkabout last night. Didn't get back until nearly midnight. There's life in her yet.

Good luck for Friday

15 is a very good age

Keep the treats coming! (my old boy, who has just been put to sleep, was pampered beyond belief, I bought all sorts of treats for him and once I had established what cat food was his favourite I would go out of my way to buy it for him. He was worth it though Smile)

Wish it was Friday already.

She has stopped eating :(

In normal circumstances I'd be looking at the temperature with you - if it's hot, they sometimes just lie around and go off their food a little. But with your girl and her problem.....

All the best for Friday and wishing you strength in any hard decisions you may have to make.

She seems to be going downhill, sleeping in strange places.

Am going to take her to vet tonight for opinion.

I hate this

How did it go, chockbic?

Report
chockbic · 19/06/2014 12:20

Hi cozietoesie

Vet gave her a pain jab and some tasty food which she has scoffed down.

Definitely brighter so it looks as if she was in pain.

Big op tomorrow.

Seniorboy stopped eating properly in May but started again when he got his extra pain meds. I suspect that much pain in animals goes unnoticed, especially in cats because they cover up so much. (They just withdraw into themselves a bit.)

Anyway. You already know the situation is difficult so all the best for you all tomorrow. Let us know how things go.

Not great news its in her lymph nodes.

Vet is sending samples off and has suggested possible chemotherapy.

Am picking her up later.

Not great, No, but not impossible to deal with I think. Has the vet given any prognosis? And will she be likely to be in any discomfort?
