Title says it all. One was expected (white cat with carcinoma of the ear; operation in October had failed to eradicate it). The bad days had started to outweigh the good days so we had made a decision to call it a day this week and she made her final journey yesterday. She was a beautiful and gentle cat and we like to think she had a good life with us. She was 15. The other was totally unexpected and happened out of the blue on Tuesday. Terribly distressing and a horrible way to go. Too upset to describe it. Will do a separate post when up to it as I think other cat owners need to be aware of the symptoms. Scooby was 10 and a real livewire but also a lovely, gentle cat too. Never ever thought he would go first. Devastating week. DD (just 7) really upset but she has been trying to comfort me as I just keep bursting into tears. Have given all their beds and blankets to my Dad as can't bear to look at them at present.

I'm so sorry I know how you feel my young beautiful cat was killed at the weekend by my neighbours dog. I keep going to call her or turn and look for her as I think she's come into the room.

I am so sorry.

Losing one when it's expected is bad enough, but two is just dreadful.

That's awful

It's so upsetting when you lose them as they are part of the family and I'm not sure everyone understands that

Sorry for your loss

Am so sorry for your loss. We had to have our beautiful boy Pts on Christmas Day very suddenly due to lily positioning (who knew!) you are in my thoughts

Thank you everyone for your kind messages. Really struggling today. First thing I always did in the mornings was feed my cats but not today. Kept expecting to see my cats in their usual places all day. Hard to come back and get out of the car and not have a cat waiting for me - they recognised the car engine and would always appear. Unable to talk to people about it without breaking down, especially as people are kind and that makes me cry even more.

Oh May I am so sorry to hear this they were part of your family and you have suffered a double blow. Cry if you need to. I do understand I have lost both my dogs and my life and house are empty now.
