we're going away for 3 weeks and due to the kindness of friends have two options:

a) various friends taking it in turns to swing by the house 1/2x day to feed the cat and say hello
b) take her to another friend's place to spend the whole time there.

She's fairly new to our family (had her since January, she's 2.5yo, rescue cat) and is very sociable, though not keen on cuddles. I just worry about 3 weeks on her own (we've never left her alone overnight) effectively...so is familiarity or company a better option?

With a cat, I'd go for familiarity. Opposite for a dog. Depends on the cat, though.

C) cattery.

I like to know where mine is Grin & they have full vet insurance.

I don't want to put her into a cattery, she's been through enough rescue places and it's expensive over 3 weeks - also we leave tomorrow so I don't have time to really scope somewhere out to check it's ok

(we did have plans for someone to come and stay in our house with her but it's just fallen through)

Familiarity. Leave her at home. As long as people come by to feed and fuss her, she'll be ok. Better off than shifting digs, they don't like that much. But sleeping 18 hours a day, chez cat? Easy.

We have a cat sitter for Harry as I prefer to know he's in his own home - £18 a day but worth it for the peace of mind. He's quite sensitive so I couldn't bear to put him in a cattery.

Harry1603, which cat sitter do you use? I'm looking for a recommendation. Thanks!

It's a local couple who also foster for the charity that Harry came from. They have been cat sitting for over 20 years. I'm not sure where you are - I'm in Surrey.
