Any idea how to find out the location Sad our (tiny) house stinks Angry

We think one of the local toms has been in. Can't find any sign or evidence it anywhere apart from the stink.

It's a crawling round on your hands and knees job. Unless you have a uv light.

Sad dh says he can't really smell it anymore confirming my theory he has a crap sense of smell.

Have you got bio powder to clean it up?

I'm sure we only use bio powder! Our cats don't seem overly bothered, I'm not feeling the feline love at the moment Angry

Can you fit a sureflap? Your two probably invited him in.

Hmm unlikely there have been lots of stand offs between the shut patio doors overnight when mine are locked in for the night!

He got in somehow, though. I'd go for a Sureflap, myself. (It takes out the personal element.)

I think he came in when mine were either out during the day (and cat flap is open) or fast asleep on their our bed.

Smell is much better today but will be down on hands and knees sniffing and cleaning later this morning. Some cat people have suggested spraying cat-a-pult outside to deter them from coming in the garden apparantly it works much better on uneutered cats.

I suspect that stopping him coming in will prevent your problem in the future. It would reduce the gain for him in coming round and would mean that your house wouldn't smell. (Happier resident cats as well.)

I grant you that a Sureflap isn't cheap but many posters use them here and they certainly seem to pay their way in terms of reduced stress on humans and cats.

I'm quite sad about the suspected culprits tbh. I think they could be strays but can't get close enough to them to see if they are underweight etc. I'm very tempted to catnap and get them spayed because the world does not need more unwanted kittens grrr.

Could you put food out over night for them? Aldi multipacks are only £2.29 for 6 cans. Nothing like food to build trust.

Yes I guess I could, 2 people locally put food outside for any random cat to eat which is probably why we have this issue in the first place! I could however try to build trust and then catch the bastards Grin

I'm not sure if it will help, but our 2 neutered boys have a violent dislike to black plastic (esp bin liners etc).
