She sounds gorgeous. The first thing I thought of with similar colouring was a broad bean flower, but beanflower is a bit unwieldy as a name. Pansy?

I love the idea of my oh shouting "broad bean flower"Grin pansy is a good start..I like that..
this is my first ever pet.. ever.. she's coming on Friday any tips to make her welcome? and any essential buys?
thanks in advance x

Georgie*

Well you'll need a litter tray, litter (ultra clumping is small grained & softer on little paws), litter scoop, ping pong balls, side plates to use for her food, cereal free kitten food, cheap fleece blankets, a water dish (change daily), a tall scratch post so it's still useable when she's adult & a bed but a dog bed because cat beds can be a bit thin on the base and its not comfy for them but dog beds are much better & a cat flap.

Then you need a vet appt for a health check, vaccination and then neutering & microchipping.

*I want a cat called Georgie so it's my go-to name for kittens.

Baking parchment

It makes a lovely rustling noise when it's crunched into balls and thrown across the floor.

(that's a buy, not a suggested name)

You will be her favourite thing in the whole world. If she's wary at first, don't overhandle her or let people keep picking her up - let her come to you - soon she will be blissfully curled up in your lap (or trying to sit on your shoulder or on top of your head, depending on temperament!)

Probably, shop around though because prices vary wildly.

If you don't its Sod's law you get a cat who likes to kick litter everywhere.

I need a picture pre-suggestions. Is your camera charging for Friday?

(It's the rule, here, I'm afraid. Start a thread about a kitten and you have to provide a photo! Grin )

dunmopin I think Bean is a great name for a cat! I call my two my little beans all the time Grin Other names I like are Fizz, Poppy, Minty, Vero, Domino, Ruby, Piccolo, Oreo, Mitten, and Molly.

The BEST catnip cat toys are by Yeoww, you can get them on Amazon. My two absolutely love the rainbow and the banana.

Which author do you like? We have a cat named Tolkien which is great fun to yell across fields.

£110! Easily done though. You go in for a squeaky catnip mouse & come out with a cat tree & another bag of caviar flavoured treats plus some posh cat food.

You'll find a name that fits when you get him/her home!

We have:

Ozzy & Elvis - watching "The Osbornes" when we got then and thought Elvis would be a good partner! We're not fans of either namesake!

Bogey - He adopted us and when OH picked him up we saw he has a black "bogey" coming out of his nose which is white!

Darwin - he has lots of extra toes, auto we reckon he's more evolved! Hmm

We've got an all black (apart from a tiny dickie bow) boy of 16 weeks called Severus (as in Snape!). Dd2 owns him, and wants a girl cat called Minerva (as in Prof. McGonnagal - not happening!!).

Best toys have been a feather duster stick and a wee ball with a bell inside!

Have fun, we're loving having our crazy cat!

Don't forget to kitten proof your home

I've got an open gas fire, now stuffed with paper
Sides of the washing machine
Back of the toilet
Side of dd's drawers

Anywhere they can get needs blocking off -I find flip chart paper best for this Grin
