My cat Food has been missing all weekend, very out of character. We were out calling for him round our estate today when a woman told me a cat (same colour) had been killed up on the main road yesterday. We went straight away and had a look but couldn't find a body.

Can anyone help me with who I could talk to to try and find out if this is my boy? I am fearing the worst, it's too much of a coincidence, but I'd like to know for sure.

Check he hasn't been taken to a local vet. Also check with the council, I think they remove animals that have been in accidents. I'm so sorry your boy has gone missing fingers crossed that he wanders home for a happy ending. xx

Oh no, I hope it's not your cat :( I agree with phoning around local vets. Could you ask the woman who knew about the cat if she knew who found it?

Definitely call the council in the morning, it's likely they were called out to take the body away. So sorry for you, I've been in the situation with a missing cat and it's very hard.

Is your cat chipped?

If so its worth contacting the local vets

Thank you, will try in the morning.

The lady I spoke to had seen the cat by the road but she'd not had a good look or phoned anyone, so didn't know if it was my cat.

Thanks again.

So sorry, I hope you get some answers soon, it is horrible waiting for them to come home & not knowing where they are

Yes, he's microchipped so I hope if the vet has him they will get in touch. But I'll ring them anyway.

Nothing reported from either vet or the council street cleaners, but I've left my number. One of the vets had a female black and white cat brought in after an RTA, so I am wondering if this could be the cat the lady told me about. Still no sign of my boy this morning though so not hopeful.

Best of luck, though. There are many threads on here where people have had cats go off for a long time and then come back so all is not lost.
