The litter tray

9month old keeps sitting in his litter box but not going

He's not a big lover of the litter tray and tends to go outside but twice this morning he's gone to sit on his litter tray, sat there for a couple of minutes then walked off having not gone

He's eating and drinking as normal -is this worth a trip to the vets?

Is he is in the peeling position? If he is and not passing anything - vets now.

I'm in the waiting room -I rang them just after I posted and they told me to bring him straight down

They've had a quick look as soon as we arrived, and then gave him me back in told me we are ok to wait, should be seeing the vet in the next 10 minutes

Poor boy. Mine did this and ended up having to have the crystals 'milked' out of his tiny neutered willy by a very kind vet who now (10 years later) has a small but visible facial scar from the encounter. It might not be pretty, OP. Fingers crossed for your little cat. Mine is still alive and hasn't been ill again since so all can end well.

Glad you are at the vets. My old boy had a bladder blockage last year. 4 days kept in with a catheter and £1200 later he's ok. We have to kept him on a wet diet though to avoid any future blockages.

Cystitis

2 injections at the vets, 2 medications to bring home -1 in tablet form which I have just successfully administered (so proud)

Just need him to consent to eating wet food now!

So glad I took him, a quick google tells me it could have been much worse

Dreading the urine sample though!
