Out ginger boy (4) hasn't been very well for 3 days now. He had a little water on the 1st day he was poorly but nothing since. He was also sick on 1st day. Very smelly sick.

He won't eat and looks really misreable. Very lethargic.

When do I take him to the vet?

This morning, Becky. he doesn't sound at all well. Not eating or drinking for 3 days isn't good at all and coupled with the rest of the symptoms I think he needs to be seen.

How did he get on, Becky?

Hello, I got him an appointment at 11am with a different vet to our normal one as they were booked right up. From about 9:30 till when we left, he decided to get up and get a drink and had about 6 mouthfuls of food.

The vet said he couldn't find a problem and it was probably a case of he had eaten something outside that hadn't agreed with him. But to keep an eye on him and bring him back if no improvement.

I kind of feel like he fobbed me off a bit now.

Saying that though, my cat has eaten almost half a tin of food in total today and had 2 more trips to the water bowl.

He actively came downstairs on his own when i called him and tapped his food bowl, which he wasn't doing before.

He still seems very tired though.

Glad he seems to be a little better. Let's hope that he's well on the mend.

Fingers crossed for him. You did absolutely the right thing in taking him in.

Thank you Smile

Actually contemplating calling someone out to him :/ he's basically slept all afternoon under a blanket on the sofa.

I just pulled his scruff up a bit and it didn't go back to normal. Stayed lifted a bit. I'm sure I read somewhere that it's a sign of dehydration.

Do I leave him until tomorrow or call a vet?

Just rang OOH vet. He said to bring him in tomorrow at 10 and not to worry too much because he has had food and drink. My poor baby Sad

We took him this morning, he was given a long lasting anti biotic injection.

Vet said he thinks he has caught a bug from another cat.

He snoozed for a good 4 hours when we got back. When I checked on him the last time. I stroked him and he started purring, then he got up and started sharpening his claws on his scratch post. He then went for some food and ate with enthusiasm.

So happy he seems better already. Will keep an eye on him though. Smile
