Anyone had allergy testing for their mog? How did it work out?

I have carried out allergy testing on several cats. Most common allergen has been house dust mites. Immunotherapy is successful, but not as quickly as in dogs.

how do you help a dust mite allergy, do they do a series of injections?

The injections tend to go on for the rest of the animals life to keep really good control. There are environmental controls to do as well. Do you know which dust mites it is that is the problem there are several.

We haven't had the tests done yet so it may not be dust mites although my house is quite dusty Blush
If the environmental controls are to hoover every day I won't be too thrilled Grin

What are the symptoms, Snog ?

Environmental controls do involve a lot of hovering and washing I am afraid.
The first step is allergy testing I actually have had more food allergies in cats than anything else. Due to the importance of taurine in a cats diet it is really important that an accurate diagnosis is made before an exclusion diet is tried.

Thanks for the helpful info!
Symptoms are year round itchy skin and inflamed gums Sad
I've had my cat a year and she is a rescue cat aged 7. I am waiting to see if Petplan will pay for her allergy tests.

I have never know pet plan not to pay. Has she been swabbed for calici virus with her inflamed gums.

No, I haven't heard of that so I will ask the vet on that score
Flowers thanks for the advice

Inflammed gums are stomatitis. The most common cause of stomatitis is chronic calicivirus infection. Loads of work has been done on this chronic infection with good information of how to support positive cats by Mike Lapin at Colorado State.
