She has been sitting at the window for about two hours, pining for ginger boy to come home. (He's got a new mate in one of the feral farm cats!) Every time I tried to pick her up for a cuddle and fuss she gave me the feline equivalent of F off and resumed her position.

Scabbers the Ginger strolls in for his dinner and she's straight on my lap and biffing my face, pummelling, etc. It was a proper "we've been having SUCH a nice time without YOU!" I do love them!! Grin

Totally!! Is yours a good hunter as well? I've never known a cat like her - and get this - when she realised I was going to throw out her offerings of dead shrews, she started hiding them under things like the TV unit and bookcase! I swear she knew I'd struggle to find them and get them out. Grin

My naughty tortie likes to torture lizards. She will bring them into the house and play and play with them until they die. She goes through phases of hunting though. She likes the spring when there are lots of vulnerable young around Sad
She currently curled up in my bed, with her ginger tom brother. Basically they have the run of the house. They know that they will get whatever they want from us, we are pathetic in our attempts to please them! The dogs however are kept firmly in their place.

She is definitely miffed with him isn't she? I take it she isn't friends with the farm cats?

ours used to sneak into my neighbours house and piss on her pile of clean washing that was waiting to be ironed.

she also would appear from nowhere when you were on the stairs and hurtle past you or run between your legs in an attempt to bump us off.

Norbert, if our cat try's to trip me up dh shouts "no, at the TOP of the stairs like we agreed".

Angry

accidental I am pathetic too. I made the ginger boy a hot water bottle and wrapped it up and put it in his bed Blush
fluffy she really is! She is not friends with the farm cats - not sure why. She's always been the more confident of the two, but when I'm home seems to longer around the house a lot more, while the ginger goes off around the farm.
Norbert I shouldn't laugh because I'd be gutted if a cat pissed in my laundry....haha! And YES, going down the stairs can be a dangerous experience!

Mine goes from purring like a machine while sitting on my lap blissfully to hissing, swiping and stalking off when I apparantly stroke the wrong bit of her back!

Currently she is hiding in a wardrobe but she often follows me round the house, she tolerates our tabby who is the hunter and puts him firmly in his place if he tries too much play fighting.

I am having to give her antibiotics and steroids for a skin complaint and I can't believe I have my fingers still.

It's not that her hiss is worse than her bite, I have the scars, but I seem to be trusted a little more now despite the tablets.

We got her from a rescue so not sure what she might have been through before us, but from what I read that is torties anyway!!

Mine walked past me yesterday, rubbed her head affectionately on my foot and then bit my big toe, she regularly bites people who stroke her " wrong", I have to warn children about her ( she is also a major hunter ).

I have an absolutely beautiful tortie bit she is so aloof .. She is my daughters cat and does her job well but she is sooo unfriendly . My tabby boys are sooo lovely . I love her but she just doesn't love me back . Hmm

Mine stuck her foot into the bath this evening, hooked her claws into my big toe, and bit it. Then let go and purred at me, did the hunch-back-quiver-tail self-satisfied boogie, and buggered off. Way to ruin the relaxation Hmm.

Oh.. am reading this with a certain amount of trepidation as tortie kitten is about to start going outside...

If the way she attacks our feet is anything to go by, not much will survive once she's out hunting Shock

On the other hand she's really affectionate when she's not ripping our hands to shreds Grin

Haughty Torties!!! I had a massive one but god she hated me! Utter disdain. I'd sit next to her, go to stroke her and she'd get up, give me a withering look and promptly leave the room. Apparently they are known for bonding to one person and when ex husband left she would barely come in the house and wouldn't let me touch her!! Eventually I packed her off to him and now......she follows him everywhere, sleeps on his pillow, PLAYS WITH HIM!!! Traitor traitor traitor!! I've never had one before or since but she was something else!

See my tortie has caught one mouse ever. And didn't eat it. But the tabby boy brings me rabbits, moles, mice, shrews, birds, pigeons etc. Every day.

Hilarious felty! I secretly hope that if I should die, my tortie would be a complete wanker to everyone else.... Sadly I don't think she would :-)

Moles?! Oh shit! I would be all flappy handed! I hate the vile shrews, they are bites bastards. Feel sorry for the voles and birds though so release them... Moles though!

my black female will kiss me and be adorably cuddly.... when she's hungry. try and cuddle her when she's not hungry and she's liable to claw my face off.

I feel so loved HmmGrin

When we got our tortie as a wee fluffy kitten , she missed her mum and cried all night until I lay on the hall floor ( we were introducing her gradually to our other cat) and let her sleep curled up on my hair! I am still her favourite but that doesn't stop her biting me!

Interesting about bonding to one person . We have had our tabby boys for 14 years and we got our dd a tortie kitten after much deliberation 3 years ago. We wanted her to know she was dd cat so put her bed etc in her room and tried not to fuss her too much so they did bond .. I guess it worked but I'm sad she doesn't really like us ..

Our tortie adores my husband. She waits in my DSs room for bedtime story telling than climbs on his chest for half an hour of blissful staring at DH, purring and rubbing. Avoids DS like the plague though!

My tortie only ever sits on my lap much as the kids desperately try to encourage her to sit on theirs! My husband says it's because I'm lazy and she knows once she gets curled up and comfy she won't have to move for a while Hmm
