My cat keeps miaowing!

I have a tonkinese cat who is always very chatty, particularly when she wants food, when we get home or get up etc.
But today, she is miaowing at me continuously, I have no idea why.
We have a cat flap that's always open for in/out, there's plenty of wet & dry food and fresh water down (though she prefers to drink from beside water glasses!)
Anyone have any clues why she might start continuous miaowing?!
She doesn't appear poorly in any way, very active.
I'm sure she's trying to tell me something but I haven't a clue what!

If she keeps it up she might need checking for hyperthyroidism. This was my brother's cats first symptom. His little heart was racing and he was just generally very unsettled. Has she lost weight at all?

Hmm, well she's pretty skinny anyway. Not noticably got any more so. smelly breath but I think that's par for the course.
She definitely seems out of sorts. She'd normally be snoozing on a bed all day, not pacing about yelling.

We have a tonkinese cat too and she's very, very chatty particularly with DW who 'miaows' back at her and a 'conversation' of miaows (feline and human) ensues.... She often seems to be telling DW off with her miaows too but DW not always sure what the issue is.....

Our tonkinese likes to drink water out of our glasses rather than a water bowl so we have to be constantly vigilent!

She also behaves more like a dog than a cat in a lot of ways - follows DW around the house and goes to the front door if someone knocks etc....

Take her to a vets. If she seems out of sorts then she is trying to tell you something may be wrong. Is the bad breath recent?

Ah, yes gazzalw, we have many chats with our tonk, she is very funny and can be dog-like too, she plays fetch with an old toy, sometimes hunts it out to drop at your feet and miaows until you throw it for her.
She's a fab cat.

Think the bad breath has been coming on a while. Don't all cats have bad breath then? Hmmm, if not, that's a bit concerning.

Mystery solved!

I rang DH to say I was worried about her behaving so oddly. He then remembers to tell me his mother locked the cat flap last night when she was here, and yes, on checking it was locked one way!

Phew, what a relief thanks for the responses though, it was something jolly silly of course!

Mine had bad breath, and needed lots of teeth removed - due to gum disease.
