Easy to digest/delicate food suggestions please?

My 13 year old cat has been generally unwell this week, sickness, diarrhoea, drinking lots of water, very sorry for himself and not eating. He's brighter in himself, symptons seem have resided but he's not particularly interested in food. Saw the vet on Friday who gave him an anti-biotic injection and advised chicken and water for 48 hours. that way, we can see if we're just dealing with a tummy upset.

He just won't touch the chicken (I've actually been trying chicken all week while he's been ill). He will eat 2/3 mouthfuls of his normal food (he's nicked his sisters which has been left out!) and I've given him a little white fish which he did enjoy, but want to get his tummy as settled as possible. If it won't settle or he won't start eating properly, then he'll have to go in for tests next week.

Can anyone suggest foods which are delicate/easy to digest, or any ideas to stimulate his appetite.

There are several on the market, but I always choose applaws and would go for either the ocean fish or plain chicken one.

And if you're going for chicken, I'd always try for fresh cooked and really moist. (Warm if possible) Chunks of dry chicken breast aren't really that appetizing.

Thanks for your replies. Hadn't thought about serving it warm, so will give that ago later on. His 48 hours on chicken are up tomorrow, so if he won't eat much of it, will look into the Applaws - think they do some at our local pet shop.

Any others suggestions are still welcome!
