Now this is a long shot but my friend has found an absolutely gorgeous Persian ( we think) cat. It has been sleeping in her neighbours shed for at least 4 nights.

The cat has been taken to the vets and is well cared for, no fleas and is not chipped.

I am hoping the power of MN can find its owner somebody MUST be missing her.

My friend has her at the moment but cannot keep her.

Your friend could also notify the local Persian Rescue if she's desperate. It's a bit of a long shot but pedigree breeders and owners tend to stick together and could put the word out.

She has contacted CPL to see if they can help

That's fine. I see there's a local Kent Persian Rescue so if CPL don't contact them (which they well might) then it's probably worth her while contacting the rescue herself. (Especially considering that she can't keep the cat so making contact with the rescue might be a good idea generally - just in case.)

Let us know how she gets on.

I will update I promise I will also google the local Persian rescue and give her the number.

This little cat is so gorgeous I would have her but my boys would not like it and the owner must be distraught

The local charity to us have taken her in. The CPL refused as they have nearly 100 cats needing homes at the moment. The local Persian charity said they could take her for a month which worried my friend as to what would happen after the month.

Initially the local charity one said they could not have her as they have too many , but then they rang back and said they could take her after all. Apparently she has a lovely large pen, a brand new pink litter tray and a large scratching post. I am sure she will be re-homed she is simply adorable I will attach a pic to my profile for anyone interested

Now I don't normally go for Persians - but she is a honey. I take it that the Persian Rescue have all her details in case someone contacts about her?

Just goes to show how important chipping is.

Well done the pair of you for rescuing her and giving her a chance at least.

Thanks Cozie, Yes Persian rescue have all the info. And my friend is going to get both her indoor girls chipped today today. She always thought not necessary as they don't go out but there is always the chance of an escape.

I am just agog at CPL having 100 ish cats needing homes Sad
