How to get catagogo back in tip top condition?

Have noticed the last couple of weeks that she is not looking too good.

Catagogo used to be fat and fluffy, now she is merely scraggy and knotty.

Her poor collar is hanging off and I can feel her bones. She has been leaving quite a lot of her biscuits lateley, but we weren't too worried as usually the vet says she's too fat. How rude?!

I have started working on the knots with the comb, but I also have a little shaver for the dreadlocks on her tum. I am doing a couple at a time so she doesn't hate me.

We have started giving her some whiskas as well as her usual biscuits too.

Any other ideas? Cat milk? Cat vitamins?

I think a visit to the vet is order, no animal goes from fat to thin for no reason.

I will definitely take her.

It's hard to tell about the weight, as she is quite poofy, so it's difficult to tell what's fur and what's actual cat.

Like I say though she does seem a bit thin, although she didn't seem fat to me when the vet said she was either.

I will get one of the dc to hold her on the scales tomorrow and see how heavy she really is.

My vets weigh the cat every time we go, they might have it on record.

Home scales can be very inaccurate, dh is livid out new scales show him to half a stone heavier than the old ones.

Yes mine do too: she used to weigh 4.8 kilos, but last summer she had gone down to 4.3 (I think) and the vet was pleased. (we had been using a measuring scoop for her biscuits and not giving her any tinned meat as the vet suggested)

I can't take her to the vet tomorrow as I am at work all day, but was hoping to get a weight in the mean time.

Hyperthyroidism is pretty common on cats and could explain the weight loss. It could be her teeth too, our little kitty was very thin when we got her from Battersea and had about half of her teeth out while she was there. The nurse said that they tend to not groom themselves very well when their teeth are at them which could explain why her fur isn't in great condition.

Yes, definitely get her in for a vet check.

The quicker she gets seen the better - for her and for you.

There are many things it could be, but outcomes are always better with earlier treatment.

try her with royal canin baby cat as its higher protien than adult food and adult cats love it, the rescue i work for gives it to pregnant and nursing girlies
