Worried about my cat....

She hasn't eaten today, and been very lethargic sleeping in a bedroom and now the bathroom. She had a furball yesterday and was sick today (TMI - sorry). I think she's had a drink as I put the jug next to her and turned my back and when I looked again was sat next to it (odd cat, will only drink out of the bathroom jug when indoors). Not sure if she's ill, if her lethargy is normal (normally at work, but hasn't attempted to go out tonight as usual) or she's sulking because it's turned cold again today after yesterdays sun. She only 10, so not THAT old, and a general moggie.........just needed to say it out loud, sorry

Have you checked her over for any bites/wounds? They can get like that of they have had a bit of a scrap with another cat.

If it's out of character for her or she's not eating or drinking like normal then she needs to see a vet. Cats do tend to get lazier as they get older but it should be a gradual change rather than something you notice over a couple of days. There are loads of things it could be down to, and it could be absolutely nothing, but it's better to be safe than sorry :)

Checked her over but couldn't see anything. Think it might be a trip to the vets tomorrow......

Hope it's nothing - she's been my grouchy rock over the last few years.....and if it's tablets I'll need welding gloves.......

Just checked her again. Wouldn't eat her favourite cat treats. Stroked her and she was loving, Felt along her back and she was ok. She even started to groom her nether regions. Then I looked closer and think she's hurt her back leg! Still ring the vets tomorrow, but not as worried now, thanks

She also went as though she was going to go for me when I touched the leg

Sounds like she may have hurt herself then. Our old cat was like you describe when she had been bitten by a squirrel.

Oh God - dreading the cat basket tomorrow......normally you have to hold her with one arm and keep knocking the paws in with the other!!!

Sparkling Cat hates the carrier. She had her boosters last week, I shovelled her into it while she was asleep. She woke up too late to argue.

Quick update - was more like her usual self today but took her for a check over. Everything appears all alright but given an injection just in case her tummy is a bit inflamed with the sickness. Told to feed on chicken/fish....then she came home, went straight to her food dish and started to eat!!!
Thanks for last night, it was good to have my mind put at rest
