I have had several cats throughout my life but this will be my first special breed.

I'm very excited about picking her up next week. She is just short of a year old and is getting beaten up by the owners other cat so is re-homing her to me!

My friend is going to build us a big cat olympic climbing platform with bits of wood and old carpet pieces and I was thinking about putting some well placed shelving up too.
I understand that Rex cats are incredibly agile and fantastic jumpers and athletes.
She has always been indoors but apparently they will walk well wearing a small harness if trained and confident enough to go outside, etc...not sure about this though....

I'm also considering human toilet training but wonder how successful this really is...has anyone else done this successfully?
Rex are clever, learn quickly cats, so I want to challenge her and give her lots to amuse her as well as exercise her, etc

Who else has a Rex and what advice would you give me about them?
Thank you

Hi there whatthe

That's a real specialized breed. You may still get someone here who has or has had one but I didn't want to let your post go unanswered. Maybe the best thing to do is to contact one of the societies eg

\link{http://www.cornish-rex.co.uk/\cornish rex society}

so that they can put you in touch with a member or two to have a chat.

Best of luck with her.

Xmas Smile
