Effing fleas !!!

I took two kittens in last sunday and they are flea ridden , I have used frontline on them (vet gave me no choice) 2 days ago and it has had no effect at all , SO i got a spray today (cant remember the make) im just hoping this works as they are starting to get sore now because of them and with them been ragdoll kittens they have long hair .
Any suggestions please im at my wits end , I have spent a small fortune trying to get rid of the fleas including RIP Flea spray and Flea Bombs
How can i help my kittens ??

What age are they? Really important as below a certain age Frontline is the only safe option.

10 weeks maybe a bit older

At 10 weeks there are lots of things you can try, BUT if you used the frontline as a spot on, be careful what else you put on them- I have actually seen a kitten killed by over-zealous use of flea spray

If you've used a frontline spray/ spot on AND treated the house they should go- it might not be immediate, as you may still have eggs hatching in the house but it will work eventually. It may be worth waiting a while to see how the treatments you have already used pan out- nothing can kill ALL fleas within 48 hours, as there will be many different stages of development.

In the meantime, I wouldn't add anything else to the mix, but you could use a flea comb to try to alleviate the on-cat population (remember around 90% of a flea problem is in the house/ environment) Good luck!

There is flea spray for the house, and flea spray which is safe to use on the cat - make sure you know which you have, as the former can be way too strong to use on kittens (or indeed full grown cats!)

And you need to use BOTH at the same time, otherwise the eggs left in the carpets / rugs / bedding / under the bed / bottoms of the curtains etc etc etc will just hatch out again and re-infest the cat.

You need to spray EVERYWHERE with the house spray (under the sofa and furniture esp), wash all fabrics that can be washed on a hot wash, then tackle the kittens themselves.

Good luck. Only had fleas once but they soon went after a really good spraying.

One more thing which I forgot: I believe that most councils operate a pest-removal service which is pretty cheap. If things get really bad, you might want to look into that.
