Celia Hammond Trust urgently need Foster Carers

Just posting this on behalf of the Celia Hammond Trust who I got my two adorable cats from. I have just spoken to the rehoming lady there and she was telling me they are in desperate need of more foster carers for cats and kittens. The trust will provide all vetenary care, food and litter, all you need is a spare room for the animals to stay in (some are traumatised or may be unvaccinated as too young) and transport ( to collect free food/litter/supplies from lewisham or Canning Town clinic as needed) If you have children this is fine, as long as they are not very young and likely to pull cats around!

They are absolutly desperate and currently have 20+ cats and kittens needing foster homes. If you think you can help please contact them www.celiahammond.org/index.php?module=pagemaster&PAGE_user_op=view_page&PAGE_id=8&MMN_position=14:14

celia hammond do a fantastic job too far for me and the rescue i work at and probably every cat rescue in the country is the same at this time of year centre of kitten season, wish that people would spay or neuter thier cats but it dont happen, at Haworth they have 50 moms and kittens already in foster and every week theres at least ten phone calls of people wanting moms and kits or pregnant cats rehoming and despite people like cats protection offering free neutering the problem seems to be getting worse, sadly in this country animals are seen as disposable when they become difficult, not on here i hasten to add peeps on here all love and care for thier cats

I would also highly recommend CHAT as an organisation, Celia's ability to match family with cats was uncanny. I wish we could foster a couple of kittens but unfortunately not poss for us ATM.

Sorry, we are too far away. My sister got her two huge boys from them. I doubt she can help, she's got eight children and two dogs as well.

I think their foster carers are spread around quite a wide area, as long as they can drive to a clinic for support/supplies. It was hearbreaking talking to Lesley today. its her day off yet she was popping some papers down to me and saying hello to Florrie, our newest kitten, who replaced the dear departed Pixie. Florrie had actually been cared for by Lesley so was special and although she is a year old now, is the size of a 6 mth old due t earlier problems, so still very sweet and dainty. I know Lesley was looking forward to seeinghow Florrie had settled in, but instead had to deal with a rescue of five tiny babies whose mum had died Sad it took forever and the kittens are so young they still need cleaning and teaching how to poo - cannot go to shelter as too much risk of infection, lesely cannot have them at heres as she herself has so many already and all her foster carers are full - she is a saint that woman but was really worrying about the situation - said she needs about 20+ new foster carers Sad

I would do it in a flash but no space and with up to 6 under 3s each weekday not really suitable as they WILL pull the darlings around - my two know when to hide, when to play and when to run!! Grin

I'll spread this round on Twitter- I got my first 2 kitties from Celia Hammond. They were great and lent us a pen while the girls' were getting settled in.
Can't foster ATM as our current girl would not allow it! Plus the 2 dogs- dp would have a fit!

Thanks Yoghurty, I mentioned to Lesley about the threads on here with folk finding strays and she was even telling me to give her mobile number - like she doesn't work hard enough, but she cannot bear to let any cat suffer - that Celia Hammond lot are seriously dedicated folk!
