My kittens were spayed on Tuesday, they both seem to be recovering well and both were sent home with plastic "cone" collars on.

Cat 1 is fairly relaxed and not phased by the collar. Also shown no interest in wound/stitches.

Cat 2 has managed to get the collar off, I've put it back on and she's been quite accepting, however she can contort herself and I've caught her licking her wound a few times. She also got the dressing off.

Is there anything I should be doing? I've just distracted her when I've caught her licking the wound. Should I put a clean dressing on it?

They aren't due back at the vets until Friday.

Thanks :)

don't give cat1 a second thought, she's all good..
Cat 2: call the vet and ask for a taller collar. If they cannot provide one you can extend the one she has got by taping cardboard along the wider end. What is keeping it on? I threaded the cat's collar through the loops and did it up really tight. I assume there are stitches as well as the dressing. If the wound looks dry then no need to put a new dressing on. If it is not dry she needs to see the vet.

Thanks Bonzo, I've readjusted the collar, and tbh she hasn't shown much interest today in the wound. The wound itself is clean and dry so doesn't need a new dressing.

Cat 1 still has her dressing fully intact. Should I remove it?
