Broken whiskers.

My cat has long whiskers, usually about 3 inches plus long. However he has recently shown up with all tbe whiskers on his right side blunt and about an inch long. It looks like someone has cut them.

However, I'm loathe to think that someone has cut them. He's a friendly cat but I don't know if he'd sit still long enough for some weirdo to do that.

But I can't think of how else this could happen. Could he have trapped them somehow? I'm a bit confused! Anyone else has a similar situation?

Our departed Samson had wire strong whiskas that would snap, not all mind you but the strongest would and vet said it was due to brittleness like human nails. They grow longer very slowly and were a really wake up call under the duvet at night!!

My cat has burnt her whiskers sniffing barbecues and candles. But it's pretty obviously fire damage. Yours does sound like they might have been trimmed.

yes.....ds2 decided that one of our cats needed a makeover and snipped of his eyebrows

he cried after he has done it as the cat sulked and would not sit with him.
