The litter tray

Anyone want to listen while I talk about my cat?

She is ill and won't get better and I am getting myself worried but also still a bit in denial Hmm.

My cat is a girl and was born at 8.13pm on August 31st. She is a tortoiseshell and absolutely gorgeous. She used to sleep in a tissue box and once I spent ages looking for her only to find her in bed with her head on my pillow Grin.

She has a full personality and is really funny. I don't need a clock, I just look where she is sleeping and I will know what time it is.

She waits on the driveway for me to come back from school with the kids as she wants her tea has missed me so much and often sleeps on the landing outside their bedrooms once they are asleep.

She was not impressed when we had yet another strange, furless baby and ignores my other pets with total disdain. She likes the fish though and watches them as telly.

Her kidneys have now started to fail and she is on medication, expensive food and monthly blood tests. She still plays with her toys and bites me but she has definitely not been well. I worry about every little thing and wonder if it is a sign of her going downhill.

I love my cat and don't know what I will do without her Sad.

I'm so sorry your cat is poorly. She sounds a proper little character. Hopefully someone here has experience with kidney failure.

Thank you fluffycloud.

She is asleep in my space on the sofa at the moment. Every night we have the same rigmarole of me moving her to the other side. She can sleep on either side but I have to sit on the right hand side Grin.

DH thought it was just her gum whereas I thought it was an ulcer so I will keep an eye on her and make sure she is still eating.

I have found a toy I had forgotten she had so will play with her later when she has had her nap.

She sounds lovely. My friend had a cat called Felix who had kidney failure and he lived for a good while on medication. He was a boisterous Tom who ruled the neighbourhood but changed into a soppy housecat when he became unwell.

I have a Snowshoe with heart problems but he still goes hunting at the farm every day. When he comes back got tea he settles down on his chair and consents to Boy 6m stroking him.

Make the most of your time with her Smile

There are lots of cats around here and my cat is scared of all of them Sad. I just went down to check on her and she is curled up in my space on the sofa. I know I am being stupid as she is only a cat but my God I think I will be heartbroken when she goes. I know I will.
