As above - post a pic on your profile, others to name the breed/s.

If you know from previous threads what they are, don't say! As a starter for 10, I've put some pictures of ddog smile No prizes for guessing that he is a bit of a mixture . . . but what???

twooter Tue 02-Apr-13 22:19:43

Obviously a collador retriever?

Takver Tue 02-Apr-13 22:21:55

Nope, neither grin

Singlediva Tue 02-Apr-13 22:24:41

GSD crossed with a retriever???

Takver Tue 02-Apr-13 22:35:47

No, size about right though

Any other guess-the-breed pics?

twooter Tue 02-Apr-13 22:38:26

Samoyed cross pointer

Takver Tue 02-Apr-13 22:41:56

None of them yet

He's not from the UK, if that helps - there's plenty like him where we used to live

saintmerryweather Tue 02-Apr-13 22:59:11

Catalan sheepdog x?

tabulahrasa Tue 02-Apr-13 23:30:56

Takver Wed 03-Apr-13 10:25:40

Sorry, went to bed! Also, should give my apologies, Singlediva, he does probably have a little bit of GSD in him (litter of 8 rescue pups, one has a definite GSD look to her). But no-one's got the main two yet!

Still waiting to see everyone elses pics smile

MrsZoidberg Wed 03-Apr-13 10:33:23

White GSD & Malamute?

Itsnotahoover Wed 03-Apr-13 13:09:10

Guess mine then smile won't let me upload more than one flippin' picture though for some reason!

tabulahrasa Wed 03-Apr-13 13:20:59

Itsnotahoover - I can't really see yours, it's just black dog, lol.

You can have a photo of mine if you want, but I think it's pretty obvious what he is...

Itsnotahoover Wed 03-Apr-13 13:25:11

It won't let me add anymore pics off the ipad, keeps saying too many redirections occurred or something! Lol

Fenton Wed 03-Apr-13 13:29:16

hoover, - is it a Borador?

tabulahrasa - Rottweiller?

tabulahrasa Wed 03-Apr-13 13:30:20

Oh that one's a bit better - on a beach, last time it was just a black dog inside, quite hard to make out, lol

Itsnotahoover Wed 03-Apr-13 13:30:30

Right cleared cookies and saved a different photo! Any ideas why it replaced the existing pic though? Can't seem to save more than one GRRRR

Itsnotahoover Wed 03-Apr-13 13:31:15

Fenton first bits right lol

tabulahrasa Wed 03-Apr-13 13:33:23

He is a Rottweiller - like I said a bit obvious, lol

I was just about to go for some sort of retriever collie cross for hoover's

Itsnotahoover Wed 03-Apr-13 13:36:21

Collie x but with what? smile

Fenton Wed 03-Apr-13 13:37:41

a springer spaniel?

Itsnotahoover Wed 03-Apr-13 13:37:52

Added a different pic... She's just had a haircut on this one! Still can't seem to have more than one pic at a time though!

Takver Wed 03-Apr-13 15:22:32

MrsZoidberg, you're on the right lines, but not quite there yet

Itsnotahoover, some kind of spaniel X? He's incredibly cute!

Takver Wed 03-Apr-13 15:23:01

Sorry, she smile

Itsnotahoover Wed 03-Apr-13 16:08:33

Nope not spaniel grin

What's mine?!

Takver Wed 03-Apr-13 18:34:48

twoface, can't see your pictures . . .?

Is it working now?

Takver Wed 03-Apr-13 20:13:01

Yes, he's very cute too smile Staffie x Jack russell?

MothershipG Wed 03-Apr-13 22:53:32

Itsnot - schnauzer x?

Twoface - staffy?

Can you guess mine? smile

poorpaws Wed 03-Apr-13 23:22:54

I can't guess any but I'm loving the photos.

Gorgeous dog crossed with beautiful dog smile

Slavetothechild Thu 04-Apr-13 00:55:14

How about guessing my one ...not as obvious as you would think. He is from a mistake mating at our kennels !!!ooopps

MothershipG Thu 04-Apr-13 07:51:41

Slave My first guess would be lab x cocker but seeing as that looks like an Irish setter behind him I'm going with Irish x lab.

MrsZoidberg Thu 04-Apr-13 10:27:49

I guessed Malamute due to his beautiful cute face. It's the back end that's confusing me, he's very like our white GSD boy but the hair doesn't quite sit in the same shape.

When do you put us out of our misery?

Takver Thu 04-Apr-13 10:51:36

Malamute is very close - he's actually Husky x Podenco Andaluz smile

I thought the husky bit would be easy, as lots of people spot that in RL but maybe it doesn't show so much in the photo. He does a great impression of a white wolf when he's in the mood (other times a better impression of a teddy bear grin )

There's some 'proper' podencos here. This quote from a rescue newsletter looking for homes makes me sad because it is so sadly true.

"If a podenco itself could choose between a life in Spain on a short chain, vegetative in the burning sun, often without food or water, often abused , only being released for hunting for between 12 to 25 days or a life in a forever adopted home with love, care and attention every day food, long walks and an own basket where do you think a podenco would choose?!"

MrsZoidberg Thu 04-Apr-13 11:16:01

Oh that's sad sad

He is gorgeous though, I should of got Husky as I have one grin but we think she's crossed with Lurcher so doesn't have a thick coat.

I love the "wolf" howls, I hope he talks too grin

Slavetothechild Thu 04-Apr-13 11:26:16

Mother yes the Irish setter bit is right but what's the mummy !!!!

Takver Thu 04-Apr-13 12:15:33

YY he definitely 'talks'! We were very uncertain about taking him on tbh because of the husky part, but he is now 13 and really he's been the perfect farm dog, you couldn't imagine a better.

Takver Thu 04-Apr-13 12:16:02

Slave - collie x setter?

Slavetothechild Thu 04-Apr-13 16:06:21

Takver noooooo !! Lol

Slavetothechild Thu 04-Apr-13 23:16:22

Same group as his daddy smile

Takver, those podencos are lovely!
Will see if I can get a picture up of our overgrown lap dog.

I have done so, it should not be hard though the quality of the photo might make it harder!

Takver Fri 05-Apr-13 09:08:20

Hmm, not sure if it is just me, but I"m only getting questionmarks, no photos, Maggie.

Fenton Fri 05-Apr-13 09:55:03

Me too, summat's up with everyone's photos now for me confused

I shall take a look in site stuff if there's a problem.

Still no joy on the photo front?

Fenton Fri 05-Apr-13 14:44:34

Nope, I posted thread in site stuff but no-ones looked at it yet.

Fenton Fri 05-Apr-13 14:45:20

Ooh actually they're back!

Fenton Fri 05-Apr-13 14:47:35

He looks lovely Maggie, is he chocolate Lab at all?

MrsBungle Fri 05-Apr-13 14:49:49

I think my young man is showing on my profile. I shall go off and try to guess everyone else's!

Fenton Fri 05-Apr-13 14:52:52

Oh beautiful, Weimarana right?

MrsBungle Fri 05-Apr-13 14:57:42

All these dogs are beautiful.

Slave - springer?

Maggie - chocolate lab?

Fenton - I love your dogs hair style!

MrsBungle Fri 05-Apr-13 14:58:12

Yes, he is a weimaraner!

FrustratedSycamoresRocks Fri 05-Apr-13 15:06:41

slave is he a setter?

FrustratedSycamoresRocks Fri 05-Apr-13 15:08:09

Setter X lab slave?

Fenton Fri 05-Apr-13 15:09:56

My dog's hairstyle was courtesy of HoneyDragon, - she pimped her Lab first, - it kept us amused for a while anyway grin

Here's the thread

I'll try and get my other photos up..

Have put pics of the boys on. One is easy the other is not what you would think him to begrin.

Can only view on phone at mo so pics small and grainy but slave is yours lab x red setter?

MrsBungle Fri 05-Apr-13 16:30:32

I shall go and look at that thread Fenton

Rattus well I definitely know number 2 as I have one!

Number 1 has lots of rosettes! Is he a GSD crossed with a collie maybe?

MrsBungle Fri 05-Apr-13 16:35:43

grin at that thread! goes off to actually find a new hairdo for herself

No he is neither, he realy isnt what you would expectgrin.

That was just one show of rosettes! He has 24 in total. He has never comes home from a show empty pawed in the 2yrs ive had him(hes 7). I only do the fun shows with them (big guy has 3 missing toes on one foot so not breed 'standard' anyway)

FrustratedSycamoresRocks Fri 05-Apr-13 18:34:09

Is he a retriever cross rattus?

Takver Fri 05-Apr-13 18:37:49

I'm totally foxed by no. 1, but he's adorable.

(actually, I only started this thread because I wanted to see all your lovely pictures and be soppy about ddog grin )

Do you give up? I dont think anyone will guess right..... Its quite a shock mix to be honnest because the logistics dont seem poss. But i had him dna tested so know his parents are the breeds DT were told he and his sibs were when they were handed over.

Takver Fri 05-Apr-13 18:49:15

Go on, tell!

Takver Fri 05-Apr-13 18:49:41

Is part of him a long haired dacshund (sp?)?

MrsBungle Fri 05-Apr-13 18:53:43

Since the logistics don't seem possible I shall have a final guess of chiuauau (how the hell do you spell that?) and great dane? grin

I'm crap at this game - but I've put mine up anyway....he's 5 and the love of my life. Any guesses?

tabulahrasa Fri 05-Apr-13 19:03:52

Border terrier cross German shepherd?

tabulahrasa Fri 05-Apr-13 19:04:40

That guess was for rattus btw, lol

Takver Fri 05-Apr-13 19:05:33

Aliens, can't see your pix (think your profile isn't visible?)

Try it now Takver i think I've fixed it!

FrustratedSycamoresRocks Fri 05-Apr-13 19:07:26

Jack Russell x setter (or spaniel) rattus?

tabulahrasa Fri 05-Apr-13 19:08:18

I still can't click on it

Haha! Nice try but nope. Mum was a Ridgeback and dad a......... King Charles Spaniel!!!!!!!

I find it both amusing and disturbing. He was part of an 'unplanned' litter (idiots who owned m+d obv didnt bother to neuter). Pups were all handed to DT who insisted mum was neuered(thak goodness).
My boy got a home but was given back after 5yrs because he had issueshmm. I have yet to see any of these so called 'issues'. He is however quite a nervous boy, often cowering at the slightest sign of displeasure in you voice, body language, or your face so goodness knows what happend in his last home. He is such a soppy happy chap and everyone who meets him coments on how friendly and loving he is.

Fixed now - Rattus your dogs are simply gorgeous!

tabulahrasa Fri 05-Apr-13 19:16:15

Rattus - at least it was that way round and not the dad being a ridgeback...and he's very pretty.

Aliens, beagle and um, how big is he?

He is about 1.5 meters floor to head - but can scrunch up to the size of a cat to sleep

But he't not a beagle - and he's thoroughbred

skratta Fri 05-Apr-13 19:20:05

Beagle x hmm.. shepherd?

Takver Fri 05-Apr-13 19:20:28

My mind is boggling, Rattus - obviously a very determined King Charles! It is so sad though all the abandoned and unwanted pups from owners who cba to neuter.

Thank yougrin I think all the dogs are beautiful....even my friends shitzu cross whos face and butt could be mistaken! He's one of those 'so ugly its cute' dogs.

skratta Fri 05-Apr-13 19:28:49

Umm...is it an Australian Black and Tan?

No - its a tough one, we have only had two people know what he is although he is a common breed. Think along the lines of hounds

MrsBungle Fri 05-Apr-13 19:32:02

Is he a fox hound?

Yup 10 points to MrsBungle - he is indeed a foxhound! We have a fair few where we live but I am told that there are not so widespread in other parts of the country. He was a rescue who had 6 homes before he came to us - he has turned into the most wonderful, lovely dog and I wouldn't be without him

skratta Fri 05-Apr-13 19:43:41

Ahh, he's lovely! We had a foxhound x border terrier (looked nothing like a foxhound though) and I should've known <stupid me>

I was about to ask if he was a foxhound. We have hunt kennels not far from us and i often see them exercising them, it was his eyes that convinced me. He is utterly handsome and if anything like the group i often meet a complete softy.

tabulahrasa Fri 05-Apr-13 20:04:19

Oh I assumed we were looking for a cross - don't know why, lol... I'd probably not have guessed foxhound though, purely because I've never met one.

FrustratedSycamoresRocks Fri 05-Apr-13 20:12:00

alien he has amazing eyes! A very striking face.

MrsBungle Fri 05-Apr-13 20:15:32

I've not come across any foxhounds here in Notts Alien. There are quite a few weims (I have one) and also greyhounds, lurchers and vizlas. I love all dogs.

Slavetothechild Sat 06-Apr-13 00:02:54

Mrs you win his dad is an irish setter and his mum is a liver and white english springer spaniel smile he is irish size with springer bone. Oh and hes black as most irsh setters carry a black gene which is dominant if not mated to their own breed ......the things you learn from a kennel mishap !!!

MrsBungle Sat 06-Apr-13 00:09:36

He's a beauty Slave

Rattus, the last picture of your two together, well I appear to have dust in my eyes and it's making them water quite heavily!
Those who guessed on ddog, are right he is indeed a chocolate lab, who seems to be under the impression that he is about the size of a toy poodle, my legs and back disagree!
He also had the classically lab trait of thinking that everyone, be they canine or human, is his friend.
We've mostly got to grips with his enthusiasm for humans, other dogs less so, though he has made some real doggy friends when out and about, which is nice to see!

Itsnotahoover Sat 06-Apr-13 07:42:43

Ooh forgot about this thread! Mine's a border collie x toy poodle!
