lurcher/collie pup eating everything

We have a 7 month old pup who eats all her bedding and every chew toy. I buy good stuff. Some Kong, 'extra tough' etc but everything gets knawed. This means it ends up coming out the other end and I'm afraid it's doing damage. I've spent on fortune on bedding and toys and they are all destroyed. Any tips gratefully received.

On another subject, a friend told me he would never have this mix of dogs around kids, is this a common held belief? So far no problem, we've had him 4 months ( rescue) and no problems so far but it made me nervous.

We have a lurcher, dd has one, ds has a lurcher /collie cross. All been around my dc for up to 5 years. All great together. . It is hard sometimes to think they can be off the lead chasing and - sometimes catching things - and can still go back to snuggling up with the kids! Rules no different to any other doggy rules - dogs shouldn't ever be given 100% trust with children. Common sense really. . Enjoy your puppy. Kids and dogs can be magical together!
