My 8 yr old lab bitch has been vomiting this week. Yellow and bile-stained. DH took her to the vet today and he suspects pancreatitis, she's going in tomorrow for bloods and scans. Except...she's not overweight and never has been, has never had tit-bits and is fed dry, hypo-allergenic, good quality food. All I can find about pancreatitis suggests, overweight dogs with a high fat diet. I'm worried it might be more serious - any ideas?

Does it happen in the mornings? We get this with our dogs as they haven't eaten from 6pm previous day. A few biscuits at bedtime helps, we call it the biley bokes. They seem to vomit bile on an empty stomach.

No, random times during the day. If she's been fed recently then that comes up, if not it's just bile. Vets this am...

There is a long list of reasons why your dog could be vomiting.

Pancreatitis can be 'idiopathic' i.e. we don't know why some dogs are affected.

I would suggest talking to your vet-the only person who is qualified to answer your questions.

Yellow sounds pancreatic but vet would nees to do tests. Could just be bile coming up but ddog should not continue to be sick

The colour of a dog's vomit can in no way suggest pancreatitis!

Maybe a virus, by all means let the vet perform a ton of expensive tests, tho. What food is she on?
